What do we want to see in the fourth series of Vienna?

Do you think we will get a series 4? I am not sure we will!

Do you think we will get a series 4? I am not sure we will! I haven't heard anything about the series doing badly in sales. I hope not, as I really enjoy it - and it was good to see the series finally distancing itself from the unreliable memory elements of the previous sets. There's also the ongoing arc of Vienna's 'purpose', although I suppose if worse comes to worse, it'll be resolved with Vienna and The Doctor teaming up again. (Eight would be a good Doctor to partner her up with, "I do my best with the universe as it is")

'Vienna' is mentioned less than other BF productions, which makes me wonder if there will be a further series too. I hope there will be, not least because Chase Masterson is so good in a wise-cracking role that could have been slightly irritating in less skillful hands. As for what I'd like to hear in future productions - well, more of the same really. I love the character and I love her situations.

For me the first four stories were excellent, but the second box set was a big let down and I haven't bought the latest one.
Personally I loved all the memory box shenanigans and had hoped for a resolution to the ending of that first box set.
Whether it is sustainable as an on going series or not I would still like to get a resolution to that first box set and possibly the series. I would be happy with a single Jonathan Morris written release, whether that be one, two or even a three disc box set, as long as the ending to the first box set is acknowledged and resolved.
Also having an actually ending would make me more likely to pick up any Vienna releases that I had missed.

I'd be happy for more like the third box set.

What didn't you like about the second box set?

I hope for a fourth series, too. Unfortunately it doesn't seem likely. On the other hand there is still space in February 2017 for another box set...

With BF being so busy I think this is the sort of range they might put on the back-burner. If they start to get gaps in their schedule in future then maybe they'll do more. Say for example if a couple of Doctors pass away and the Torchwood and UNIT cast refuse to do anymore.

For me the first four stories were excellent, but the second box set was a big let down and I haven't bought the latest one. I wouldn't put it in quite such strong terms, but I also felt excited by the first four stories - then the premise was diluted in series 2, with the 'buddy cops' setup. Well done, good writing, and fun; but not as exceptional, and not as interesting to me. I did end up getting series 3 and it was more of the same. Enjoyed it but it was not the show I was originally intrigued by. I can see the original setup was a challenge to write (unsympathetic lead and no companions to aid exposition) but it looks at this point like the more innocuous version has fizzled out anyway.

Count me as one of the people who lost interest in this series the further it went along. For all those who enjoyed it, I hope you get a fourth series. That said, if it doubled back around and went with something closer to the mind games of The Memory Box and series one, I would be willing to give it another go.

Well, if the front cover continues on its current trajectory we may get to see a lot more than we bargained for.

Thinking about it vienna's creator Jonathan Morris seems to have disappeared from the BF schedules. Which is a tad odd given how prolific he has been in recent years.

I don't think Vienna as a character is very interesting myself. I did think The Memory Box was quite a good story though, but it seemed to go downhill after that...

I am indeed hoping that Vienna returns, even if it is like Benny's current set of adventures with the Doctor. Actually a series of guest appearances would be good. Imagine Jago and Litefoot having to deal with her?

I know your post is a few months old at this point, but Jonathan Morris isn't completely gone. In my not-yet-released purchases list, I see he's written one half of the Monthly Range release for May and the June release of the Fourth Doctor Adventures. You're right though, that feels a little more sparse than usual. I also see that his blog stopped being updated in November, until just a few days ago with a new update noticing that he'd let it get 'out of date' and would update again soon. I think maybe he just got busy with other things, like the DW novel he has coming out this summer.

Hopefully he'll have something to say about Vienna then.

Mainly I just want to see it in the "Coming Soon" section!
