It all looks and sounds very promising. Regarding Vila ... {Spoiler} ... I'm glad he went back for his father. Leaving him marooned at the end of Volume 9 was a wonderful cliffhanger, but I don't think it's true to his character to leave things like that. I looks forward to this!

Indeed - true to his character would have been leaving him in a room with Avon!

Does anybody know what happens now with Blake's 7 and Big Finish? Have they got any full cast adventures 'in the bag' or have they not been done yet? With the unfortunate lack of anything done last year, and the recent very sad news about Gareth Thomas, we can no longer have full cast adventures from series one and two. Josette Simon is making series three pretty difficult and there are obviously rights issues for Series four.
I'm beginning to feel that this is not a very good time to be a Blake's 7 fan – and the audios was so very very good. Anybody cheer me up?

It's an odd turn of events. I've been looking forward to this release a great deal but in light of the death of Gareth Thomas, all I feel is sadness now over its release and the feeling that perhaps this is the end of the line for Blake's 7 at Big Finish.

I don't think this is the end. B7E has obviously approved of recasting Gan. Now it's just a case of convincing thrm to approve a recast of Dayna instead. It's perhaps too soon to discuss recasting Blake, unless they do the full reboot. So series 3 it is.

The other option is, if everything is in place for a series 1 or 2 full cast series with recast Gan, they may consider recasting Blake now and wait till end of year to release it.

That would mean asking the actors - his friends - to start working with a replacement Gareth straight away, which is just disrespectful. To everyone.

Should we not have this discussion in another thread?
Poor LC12 is being ignored in its own thread.

We're nowhere near being ready for a recast of Blake, poor Gareth's just died. The idea that it will only take till the end of the year to accept a recast is completely out there to me and I'd bet my mortgage not a single person at BF would even think it much less make it happen.

This release has understandably been overshadowed by the very sad death of Gareth Thomas. It's terrific and reminds me why I love BF's take on Blakes 7 so much. Really strong performances from the regulars (and newcomers like the mighty David Warner, splendidly sardonic in this) and compelling, slow-burning stories adorned with enigmatic music and effects. If The Liberator Chronicles really are a thing of the past, then it ends in style - tying up of a few threads created in the audios, giving the series a nice inner-continuity, and stories told with an expert confidence that bodes well for the future ... I just hope there is one!
