Just finished Dust Breeding. Really enjoyed this story and loved the brief interplay between Caroline John and Geoffry Beevers. They must have loved being able to have performed together. Loved the little meta bits about there relationship as well

You can tell where they rewrote small sections to get around it. But i think that adds to the story as well. If it had been Ainley, they probs would have just said that the Warp Core ripped the Cheetah Infection out of him and thats why he wants to free it

"Deadline" was bittersweet, but brilliant. I expected nothing less from Derek Jacobi and Rob Shearman.
Next up: "No Man's Land" and then "The Rocket Men".

Finished Ghosts of Christmas Past: The Dorian Gray/Sherlock Holmes crossover. A very enjoyable listen, the only thing I was confused about was the continuity. Character wise Dorian reminded me of the Big Finish Dorian. However plot wise the story brought up many things from Big Finish's adaptation of the novel and that adaption has a very different Dorian in my opinion. In fact if I hadn't listened to the adaption as I recently as I had I am afraid I would have been a bit lost.
The Sherlock Holmes stuff was easy to follow and Dorian and Sherlock had some interesting moments and chemistry. Vlahos' performance was excellent as always.

Listening to Phantasmagoria. I find that nobody talks about it and it seems to be interesting

Finished Gods and Monsters. I didn't hate it, but it could of and should of been so much better. I thought it was very confusing, and I was just really loving Hex. I actually like Sally and Lysandra better in their individual MR stories. I think I'll be listening to their CC tomorrow, so we'll see what I think after that.

Finished Ringpullworld....I liked the ending it being open ending was frustrating but I realized it fit the nature of the story really well and I liked Mark Strickson's reading of this but I was also left disappointed that I didn't examine Turlough's character more and his feelings about his relationship with the Doctor and Tegan. The story started this line of thought but then dropped it. And as my favorite aspect of the CC's is the character development and examination of the companions I found this disappointing.

Renaissance of the Daleks. An apt title would have been The Dalekmania Invasion of Earth.

"The Way through the Woods" by Una McCormack - an excellent new series novel, brilliantly read by Clare Corbett. Really enjoying this one.

Today I finished the Jo Grant CC Find and Replace wow applause. I have to say I wasn't all that excited for this one. I bought it during the recent sale because it got really good reviews but I had listened to Iris/Sixth Doctor story the Wormery and was only so/so about it and then I just listened to the Huxley/Turlough story and was also only so/so on that one. Not to mention with the exception of Mists of Time most of the Jo Grant CC's don't do much for me (wasn't a huge fan of the Scorchies or Many Deaths). So needless to say I went into this with very subdued expectations and was blown away. The first part was excellent...the 2nd part exceeded even that. I actually had tears in my eyes. At first I didn't like that the Doctor would try to tamper with Jo's memory but I realized we were supposed to be mad like Jo and I am happy the story showed that. The Doctor made a mistake which makes him a more compelling character. And honestly I hate memory loss stories (Jamie, Zoe, and Donna's are my least favorite endings) so anytime a story lampshades this type of ending for a companion I just love it. This story was both fun and beautiful at the same time. Now it's one of my most favorite CC's and it is exactly what I love most about the CC's the further exploration of the companions and their relationship with the Doctor.

I loved Find and Replace, kimalysong. And I say that as someone who was not an Iris Wildthyme fan to start with. But I love how well Katy Manning performed this, including how good she is at switching between characters and voices.

I finished the "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" audio book during my long drive to my conference and started on "Return of the Jedi." The audio book series is very nicely done.

I finished the "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" audio book during my long drive to my conference and started on "Return of the Jedi." The audio book series is very nicely done. I also got all of those in the Humble Bundle. Crimson Empire was my highlight, along with the Radio Adaptations. The others were a little corny, to say the least.
