I had trouble with feeling tired during the last one so have went for an established already in the mind kind of tale
The Novel Adaptations-The Romance of Crime-Gareth Roberts
least I don’t need to think too hard to imagine the tale and do any new ones when am less mental 😂🤪

R&J. This might have been one of the most clever things any BF author has ever written. I am stunned.

4DAs - Phantoms of the Deep.
An intense Uncle Tom, a delightful Mary Tamm, a not-quite-himself K9 and a mighty Alice Krige. What a cast! Jonathan Morris's story is just as claustrophobic andghostly as you could imagine a story called Phantoms of the Deep could be, helped as always by some terrific sound design and Jamie Robertson's mood music. I'm gouing to be revisiting some more 4DAs in the next few days because I'd forgotten how good this is.

One of the ones I opted for DL only in a 4DA sale just to keep to an arbitrary spending limit (always a bit miffed when I find out any of the good ones are not on the shelf). And yet its one of the best of the 4DA's I have listened to. A good summary of its strengths from paz.

Well I know you weren’t impressed but at that price??? It is better than Exile.... Just make sure you do not listen to it when wanting to go to sleep. It is the one audio completely unsuitable for that.

Dorian 4.3 - Human Remains. (As I typed that, I thought, "Hey, it's Ruth!") Catching up on the series a little earlier than I'd planned, because I want to listen to Isolation while it's still relevant!

Benny: New Frontiers ep 2, HMS Surprise
I just want to smack Peter, knock that chip off his shoulder and tell him to get over himself.

WFH today so will try and fit in a few BF stories as I go. Will add to the list as I go on.
SJS - Fatal Consequences
Early Adventures - The Bounty of Ceres (fantastic retro small scale mystery)
ps and with a lot of time to fill at the moment - haven't we all - I've just read pages 99 to 114 of this thread.
And some non-BF to finish the day, BBC Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse

The Lives of Captain Jack 3 : Mighty and Despair
Excellent story on a remote, austere world. Essentially a three-hander and that fitted the setting perfectly. Gripping from start to finish, great script and performances.

Taking a break from the MR for a bit. Relistening through The Chronicles of Oz before a binging Ozma of Oz. I so adore this series. It's the gold standard in how to adapt classic literature to the modern day without falling into the trap of making things pointlessly dark while still presenting it as a mature and adult series all the way through (the Lion's "liquid courage" and the rescue of Dorothy and the Lion from the Poppy Field both might be some of my favorite grown-up gags ever).

Missy Volume 1
Oh my god! I love this box set! Missy has always been my favorite Master (in fact sometimes I even intentionally style my hair to look like her😄) she has the best story arch of any Master, wonderful chemistry with her Doctor, and is both terrifying and hilarious at the same time 😀She is Doctorless here but is still amazing! I love her evil Mary Poppins/witch persona and she is so good with comedy here as well! I love it when she breaks the forth wall especially😄 When I first started listening to this boxset I was on a walk but I had to turn around and get tissues because I was laughing so hard I was crying 🤣
A Spoon Full of Mayhem Brilliant dark spoof of Mary Poppins, I love everything about it from the precocious yet slightly creepy children to the talking Sphinx!😀
Divorced, Beheaded, Regenerated Missy and the Monk are an amazing double act🤣 I love the monk too, why doesn’t he have his own box sets?!
The Broken Clock This was an especially odd one! It felt especially Moffat influenced, with all the intricate twists and turns!
The Belly of the Beast Another odd one, slightly reminiscent of Last Christmas in a few good ways!
All in all I love this boxset!!! It’s darkly whimsical, silly, and hysterically funny!💀😀🤣

The Boundless Sea (Jenny T Colgan)
Whilst admittedly not being the most impressive start to River’s first outing as the lead of her own series, it does the job.

Cyberman 1.3 - Conversion for the Cyber-Marathon. Already starting to fall behind on that for doing too much "thinking work" so that it's hard to concentrate on audios, but really enjoying revisiting the series. It's as suspenseful and compelling as the first time around somehow. I already think very highly of it for its brilliant situations for Cybermen stories, but very nice to see it standing the test of time and repeated listens.
