Psychodrome (Jonathan Morris)
A good science fiction story which acts as a great examination of our main characters as well. Even though one could argue that this sort of story could have been done at any time throughout the Fifth Doctor’s tenure I truly think it was a genius conceit to have this set very early on in the Fifth Doctor’s lifetime.
I also think this story just highlights how well Big Finish have used and developed Tegan and Adric. Given their characters very much a Renaissance I think.
Next to the equally fantastic Iterations of I, I honestly can’t recommend the Fifth Doctor Adventures boxset enough. If you’re new to Big Finish or even the Fifth Doctor it’s a great jumping on point.

Council of War (Simon Barnard/Paul Morris)
A fun little story with the touch of James Bond and the Avengers about it. John Levene is as magnetic as ever as the rather sweet Sergeant Benton and I rather was surprised at how much I liked Sinead Keenan as Margery Phipps. She’s certainly not the caricature I thought she would be and I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing a repeat appearance from her.

With sleep eluding me I've scrolled through the backlog and settled on a first playthrough of The John Nathan Turner Memoirs (it's only taken me fourteen months from purchase). Currently on Quite Outrageous In Rehearsal!

The Ultimate Adventure (Terrance Dicks)
Alright. First things first, that title is very much a misnomer. It’s not even close. The plot is extremely bizarre with some quite frankly baffling story choices in it. No doubt to merely showcase their ‘technical achievements’ when this was originally on the stage. For one thing, there is constant reference to a time limit in this but considering the Doctor has free use of the TARDIS throughout the entire adventure, it seems rather superfluous. Because, you know, it’s a time machine?
However, if treated like a Doctor Who pantomime (and this is what it is, let’s not fool ourselves) then it actually works rather well and the entire cast seem to be enjoying themselves so I can’t begrudge this too much. If anything I’d class this as ‘so bad, it’s brilliant’ And dare I say it? But I thought the songs were alright. For example I thought ‘Business is Business’ was a delightfully little ditty.
Then again, for all I know my carbon monoxide detector could be on the blink and I’ve actually been inhaling noxious fumes without even knowing it throughout the entirety of my listening experience.
Certainly would explain a great many things.

Well THE CHURCHILL SET VOL1 led me to a strange path as am planning a Ravenous 2 listen soon at Christmas but there was Ravenous 1 sitting beside The Avengers Lost Stories 3 and BBC. A streetcar Named Desire
And as I pulled it out I suddenly remembered Winston was in it so the randomiser worked.
This Set is a strange one and I am looking for links into the Ravenous Set of stories I wonder what the writers really had in mind at the beginning of these sets as they truly became a highlight of BF box sets so here goes am following the breadcrumbs
Ravenous 1-Their Finest Hour-John Dorney
