It's a fantastic show. I think the 80s were the high water mark for teen drama on the Beeb, with the big-budget Narnia adaptations and The Box Of Delights and Maid Marian among others. The budgets were as big as "adult" drama and great talents like Patrick Troughton and Tony Robinson were in them. For years and years, things went downhill with the odd hit like The Demon Headmaster or The Queen's Nose. Even stuff like SJA and Wizards Vs Aliens was a bit too kiddified for the traditional 5.05 post-Newround slot which was always more YA than kids. I honestly thought the Beeb didn't want to make a show in that lineage again. Now, after a long, long time without a YA hit, Wolfblood has been absolutely great. Just fantastic. I don't want to spoil much because I think LOADS of forumers would get a real kick out of it. Watch it and then tell me Debbie Moon wouldn't be a great Who writer and possible showrunner! Posters like Masta and Michael Hocking would go for it, I think.

Hello again. Yes the wolves are running... A brilliant successor to the SJAs. Debbie Moon would definitely be a good Who writer. Her first episode of Wolfblood is an object lesson in how to grab a viewer's attention.
It is equivalent to An Unearthly Child in how it establishes the situation and I introduces the characters and their problems. The setting, rural Northumbria only adds to the magic. I also like the way that the adult characters complement the young leads.
You can watch any series as they are self-contained though obviously series 1 or 4 would make most sense. Currently on Iplayer but not for long although they do repeat it from time to time.
