Re-watching Black Orchid. I still love it. Especially the costumes! Such a change of pace. When I am finished, I will watch it again- with commentary on! Looking forward to it. Have you heard the commentary before? I was really surprised when I heard it. I'll say no more!

Over the past week or so I've done 'The Web Planet', 'The Crusade' (the last story I needed to watch/listen to), 'The Space Museum', 'The Chase' & 'The Time Meddler'.

After The War Games last week, just finished Evil of the Daleks, hungry for more animated lost episodes but not sure if I'll enjoy the Macra Terror or Fury of the Deep as much as Evil of the Daleks.

Fury from the Deep in particular, comes highly recommended. I have it in more formats than any other Who story I own - the old BBC Radio Collection, the audiobook, the book and the DVD. I love it. There are so many very creepy set-pieces that it would have given me some delightful nightmares as a child! Victoria's 'journey' throughout the six episodes is very well done, too. A very chilling tale, with a terrific cast and some eerie ideas. I look forward to reading what you think!

Seconded for Fury. It’s really quite excellent and easily one of the most atmospheric Who stories out there.
To be honest, having listened to the off air recording it’s one of those stories which I’d argue has its merits in being missing. A bit like The Celestial Toymaker really.

Well that's me sold on Fury.
The 1st and 2nd Doctor are the era's I've only experienced bits and pieces of. I think with the 1st Doctor I've seen Dalek Invasion of Earth, bits of The Daleks and The Tenth Planet.
I've seen a little more with the 2nd Doctor
Power of the Daleks, Evil of the Daleks, Tomb of the Cybermen, The Mind Robber, The Invasion and The War Games I've loved 5/5
I've also got Enemy of the World waiting to be watched.
I've seen The Moonbase and Seeds of Death but didn't enjoy them enough to watch more than once.
I'll definitely give Fury a go, I want to get all the essential 2nd Doctor DVDs if possible, so perhaps Web as well

Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Crusade, The Time Meddler
Great looking restorations, missing EP Reconstitutions not too jarring

Really creepy, the two guys venting gas out their mouths has got to rank as a top scary Doctor Who moment. The sound effects and score are beyond eerie. Definitely in my top five 2nd Doctor stories already, may even become my favourite by the time I finish.

Mr Oak and Mr Quill were likened to a 'psychotic Laurel and Hardly' on the BBC soundtrack. The story continues to get creepier ... 🙂

OMG. I just had a laugh!!!! That fake made-up skull of the Mara. This REALLY does not work for someone who has taught comparative anatomy of vertebrates. It is a dog-skull with fake teeth and an enlarged Komodo-Dragon mandible. OMG- it does not even fit together! LMAO.

Rewatched Eve of the Daleks I liked this quite a bit. BUT, I am so sick of the whole human falls in love with the Doctor thing (or.. "likes"). And frankly, I sat there a lot thinking "MOVE! Move yourselves now!" If I realize I'm stuck in a time loop, I'm not wasting time on anything other than survival. But... it otherwise would have been a pure action episode. Then again so were episodes like 42.
But still, quite good. Perhaps my favorite of the specials. Other than seeing Tennant re-appear for his coming mini-run.

The Haunting of Villa Diodati
Having just enjoyed spooky things happening in an old house in the latest River Song release, I fancied a bit more of the same. While Graham is reduced to looking for 'the little boy's room', my favourite companion references my favourite work of fiction - Yaz mentions Frankenstein! While tiny seeds are sown regarding Yaz's feelings for the Doctor (fans criticise their relationship for being 'too little too late' don't seem to have been paying attention), the current jeopardy is genuinely eerie and surprisingly brutal. Ashad is a truly great character, typically underrated, and I'm glad he popped back in the finale.
A nicely moody piece this, a little too chatty in places, which is my only criticism of Chris Chibnall's style, but atmospheric and dark nonetheless and terrific to watch. The Doctor's pulled, too - she's still got it!
"I love a good plume."

I watched the Blu Ray extras for Timelash. Eric Saward's description of Paul Darrow's performance: "like a Roman emperor who's been sniffing glue all day," is now one of my favorite quotes.
The Sweet interviews are always stellar.
