Scratchman goes after Terror of the Zygons. Probably some time after The Android Invasion too.

"Toil and Trouble" (from the Tales Of Terror Anthology) occurs directly before Terror Of The Zygons. (The story ends with the deleted opening scene from that serial)

Some minor Legacy of Time spoilers {Spoiler} Collision Course takes place at two points in the fourth Doctor’s life; whilst with Leela, and whilst with Romana II.
The storyline with Leela could go almost anywhere in her travels with the Doctor, the usual slot between Talons and Horror of Fang Rock is as good a place as any.
The storyline with Romana seems deliberately much later in the Fourth Doctor’s life, so I’d suggest around Season 18 somewhere. K-9’s not seen or mentioned so it might be whilst he’s out of action courtesy of paddling in Brighton in The Leisure Hive.

I’ve seen The Iron Legion in different places - after Season 15 and after Season 17.
Given when it was originally published, and the audio adaptation that specifies the present day is 1979 what’s the reason for placing it after The Invasion of Time?

I believe that DWM did an article that placed all of their stories in a chronology with the tv episodes, and it was placed after Invasion of Time. Although that list was really inaccurate anyway, so I don’t know why people still go by it. Here it is: The Iron Legion City of the Damned K-9's Finest Hour: K-9 appears The Two-Timer Stowaway Evil Egg The Ribos Operation The Pirate Planet The Stones of Blood The Androids of Tara The Power of Kroll The Armageddon Factor Timeslip Starbeast: Sharon joins Sands of Time Mind-Jump The Hole Truth The Dogs of Doom The Time Witch Dragon's Claw The Collector Dreamers of Death: Sharon leaves Destiny of the Daleks City of Death The Creature from the Pit Nightmare of Eden The Horns of Nimon Shada The Life Bringer War of the Words: Last appearance of K-9 The Leisure Hive Meglos Full Circle State of Decay Warrior's Gate The Keeper of Traken The Spider God The Deal End of the Line The Freefall Warriors Junkyard Demon The Neutron Knights Logopolis

The majority of the Pat Mills and John Wagner stories have a very "Season 16 on a larger budget" feel to them, whereas Steve Parkhouse's run feels a lot more reminiscent of the JNT years. Much grimmer and more grounded with at least one downbeat ending (i.e. End of the Line). The Neutron Knights ends with the Doctor contemplating his own future and (depending on your interpretation of Merlin here) meeting his potential successor, albeit unknowingly. It also helps smooth over why the Keeper of Traken said the Fourth Doctor had a while to go before Logopolis.

Evil Egg has Sharon in it, so I don’t know why it’s placed before Doctor Who and the Star Beast on this list.
Also in Timeslip, when the Doctor is retro-regenerated back down his timeline, he sees a vision of the Movellans, suggesting it’s at least after Destiny of the Daleks.
I’d also rather not have two gaps where the Doctor and Romana are separated when only one is actually necessary. So I just stick everything in the gap between Season 17 and 18, I suppose it doesn’t hugely matter either way you place them, but very few can go before Season 16 due to the Randomiser.

Out of Time 1 Deadly Assassin occurred recently and has not met Leela Regards mark687 It’s a weird one because Ten congratulated him on the Presidency and says that he’ll settle down with a time lady and dog in his future which makes it sound like it’s post-Invasion of Time. But everything Four actually says himself makes it sound like it’s post Deadly Assassin.

Well technically he did "win" the presidency in Deadly Assassin, but only turned up to claim it in Invasion of Time

I think it’s meant to be a meta joke about Tom & Lalla, but it ends up falling a little flat coming off the talk of Sarah Jane.

I don't think there's anything contradictory about that. Ten has lived Four's life already, Four is still in the process of living it -- of course Ten can make sly comments about things that happened centuries ago for him, but haven't yet happened for Four.

I don’t think anyone’s saying it’s contradictory, it’s just a strange one. I do get it, after all we as humans often combine memories together, but when it’s taken as a reference we’re inclined to think of it like that rather than a memory. It’s not a big issue, but it did make at least a couple of us think about it.

New Lost Stories- Return of the Cybermen occupies exactly the same place in the timeline as Revenge of the Cybermen.
The Doomsday Contract is sometime after The Horns of Nimon as Romana has her sonic screwdriver and the Doctor is aware of it.

Or if you count the scrapped Epilogue, then Return is immediately before Revenge.

I don’t place them by where they’re best listened to, just chronologically where they occur if that’s what you mean. But The Dalek Protocol features Leela and K9 Mark 1, while The Syndicate Masterplan features K9 Mark 2.

But The Dalek Protocol features Leela and K9 Mark 1, while The Syndicate Masterplan features K9 Mark 2. Okay...I was thinking more in terms of this being the Doctor's timeline. If we're talking strict chronology from his POV, it just seemed a little odd that he should meet Anya Kingdom (as herself) and then not know who "Ann Kelso" is several stories later? Once again: entirely talking out of my ass and may well be totally wrong and out to lunch, as I haven't heard The Dalek Protocol yet.

Once again: entirely talking out of my ass and may well be totally wrong and out to lunch, as I haven't heard The Dalek Protocol yet. {Spoiler} The Doctor and Anya never meet in the story. The Doctor does meet Mark.
Basically the Doctor talked about Leela a lot when he was travelling with “Ann”. So when Anya hears the Doctor call out for Leela, she realises that it’s too early in his timeline for them to interact and then intentionally avoids him for the rest of the story. Their only interaction is when Anya rescues him in disguise, and the Doctor later finds out it was her in Dalek Universe.
Leela and Anya do meet though and Anya tells Leela who she is, but gets Leela to promise not to tell the Doctor.
