Echoes of Extinction confirms TLV is just before the Time War for Eight. Echoes itself is shortly before He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not as Eight is seeking the 700 wonders of the universe, which is exactly what he was doing in He Kills Me.

I was just looking up the Charley Era for a potential extended re-listen with all the additional stories/short trips etc. and noticed that the books have been placed together since I last looked. Used to be the second half was placed between Charley and Lucie. Just wondered what the reasoning behind the revision was?

The whole “the books are between Charley and Lucie” thing was a canon-weld made by one fansite years ago that never really made much sense or fit continuity. So I think it’s really just the fact that people are starting to pick up on the fact it shouldn’t really go in that order and are just keeping the audios together at the end of the timeline.

Well There gaps to explain how it all fits TV Movie Novels with Sam Jones VNA (set in the gap of 8 Doctors and vampire science) Novels with Sam and Fitz Gemma and Samson/ Mary Shelly Audios Comic Strips Charley Audios Fitz and Co Novels Lucie Miller Audios Dark Eye to Stranded Audios Time Lord Victorious Audios The Time War Audios Night of The Doctor or RTD’s “And The Time War”

Salvage is sometime during the Bliss portion of the Time War saga after The Lords of Terror. Best slot is probably between Lords and Planet of the Ogrons.

The Doctor appears in Hellbound, the third episode of Planet Doom. He doesn’t seem to question Roberts’ Master being alive, putting this sometime after Day of the Master where he does ask about it. Given the costume on the cover and him seeming a bit world-weary, I’d put this in latter part of his life, after Liv & Helen leave but before the Time War kicks off (so similar timing to his TLV appearances).

The Charley Audios cannot fit in that gap and the only reason anyone thinks they do is cause Eyespider sticks to it to this day. It makes much more sense to couple them to the Lucie Audios since the Gallifrey Series starts in the Charley era and leads directly into the Time War with no divergence for the War in Heaven or EDA Romana III.

After what’s happened the Sixth Doctor timeline I’d be very afraid of the power of the eyespider timeline.

I do find Eyespider to be a helpful guide most of the time, but there are times when I've been confused or outright disagree with some of their placements.

The Enemy Lines Time War details do not match the War in Heaven's beyond 'Romana is President and in her third body'. Indeed most of the details prior to Enemy Lines itself were instead hinting at the Last Great Time War. Though Enemy Lines specifically rather heavily implies the war is Gallifrey vs Omega and the Temporal Powers. Though even then, Brax's erasure of that war doesn't really track with the events of the Ancestor Cell and the Gallifrey Chronicles either. If Brax prevented that future then what's the point of Eight blowing up Gallifrey. Also wouldn't that make the later BF8 (Lucie and such) a divergent timeline rather than directly after the Gallifrey Chronicles, since erasing the War would erase Alien Bodies and everything afterwards.

I still stick to this theory personally for what the implications are for Eight’s life: notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/post/223855/threadIt’s not perfect but nothing will ever be for Eighth Doctor’s timeline.

Yeah that's fair enough. Not a huge split timeline fan myself (Unless absolutely necessary like with the 'Eight Fights the Time War' stories ending with Doctor Who and the Time War) especially in the case of the EDAs and Big Finish because I subjectively prefer that they be in the exact same timeline with Big Finish after the EDAs. But that's much apart from my actual problems with the Interference and Vampire Science Gaps specifically in the context of Bradley's Eighth Doctor Timeline.
One should never consider the timeline pages gospel, they are by necessity a compromise. I for one don't think the War was actually erased, I'm of the disposition that the War in Heaven & Last Great Time War are the same conflict from different angles and neither Eight nor Brax truly averted the War but good luck representing any of that on anything other than a messy diagram. In any case I think placing Big Finish's Charley era after the novels is the simplest compromise solution for Bradley's to go with because it requires the least amount of distortion of authorial intent in order to fit whilst still keeping the idea of the Bradley's Basement timelines (Except Seven's I guess). Ultimately the timeline pages I feel should serve as general guides rather than gospel and the 'one true timeline' should be left up to the individual.
Though if you wanted to advocate for a split timeline, dropping a message on the page itself is probably the best way of doing it. It's how I got War Master 3 moved from a really strange pre-8DTW placement that both Eyespider and DW Wiki went off of to a more sensible (IMO) later placement.
(Also looking back over this my god did I ramble)

Is there any specific placement for Battle of Giant's Causeway. I am doing a Charley/C'rizz listenthru and I'd like to slot it into the "correct" point if there is one. Or is just a vague somewhere between Terror Firma and Absolution?
