Phew.. That was about 10 hours from the actual release to the all important news piece. I think the release was early rather than the news piece being late. I'm very glad for that, I got to hear one story from the set before I went to bed last night. An excellent story by Aaron Lamont as usual, and Jerry and Lara sound fantastic.

Now onto the third story and enjoying very much. Its very much detective mode and “Price” is an interesting turn

An added point of the Dark Shadows range is the BF website they always have lovely cast photos and the full range of actors as soon as it’s released. there’s a lot of respect for the listener/viewer

I think this is the best set of stories so far from and excellent opener and a wonderful second story and the third story is creepiest one I have heard of the entire range. The regulars sound so perfect together and the writers as usual have done a top job (as I have come to expect of all Dark Shadows stories).

Is it just me or is the sound odd in places? Only on the first story, but so far after someone died there wasn't really any way to tell due to the lack of any sound effect, just a bit of dialogue. After listening very closely, was that poof noise a gunshot? At another point when they are stuck somewhere (being vague on purpose, I can never do spoilers right), they just get out of where they were stuck, but again no sound effect to indicate anything happened. The sound just feels....completely missing in places. At another point in the club, Tony has a strange reverb for one line but then it stops after that.

Well got to say these were great stories and at moment Fisherman’s Wife/Jack In The Box are my favourites they were excellent atmospheric tales taking common folklore/themes with an added Dark Shadows twist.. Cassandra and Tony work so well and its great to go and listen to the original run on the main range now

I didn't post when I listened, but I think this was the best group of Tony and Cassandra stories so far. Fun and scary, and a joy to listen to.

Got to agree I’ve listened a few times and they really grow on you and most especially the chemistry amongs the leads has really gelled. Fun scary atmospheric spooky what a Dark Shadows Audio is all about.

I have bought the five single disc audios with Tony & Cassandra from the recent sale.
I have enjoyed what I have heard with them, via free excepts and stories, and I like the concept of a private eye and a witch, but the boxsets are currently “too rich for my blood” - however that might change if I want more after I have listened to these.
Please could someone tell me what order I should listen to them?
Is release order the best way...
16. Dark Shadows: The Death Mask 22. Dark Shadows: The Voodoo Amulet 29. Dark Shadows: The Last Stop 33. Dark Shadows: The Phantom Bride 43. Dark Shadows: The Devil Cat

Well I have listened to the the first three of these five and have to report....they are great! I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to the next two, especially as the both sound intriguing.
I love the mix of narration and full cast that is used in these stories and for me the horror level is just right. I will definitely be picking up the box sets in the future.
Personally I picture Tony much older than he appears in the photos, simply because of his voice and therefore Cassandra a bit older too. But that is no bad thing, as I feel that I can identify with him better and it makes a change from all the age 30 something leads a show like this would usually have.

The first 3 are excellent for sure. I often put on The Death Mask and The Voodoo Amulet for repeat listens, but not The Last Stop. Once was enough for now, a very enjoyable but uncomfortable listen! I'm not too keen on either The Phantom Bride or The Devil Cat, so it will be interesting to get your thoughts.

Oh dear and the write up for them looked interesting...still I will soon find out with regard The Phantom Bride as I’ll be listening to that tomorrow. I was glad that The Last Stop was the middle story in my Tony and Cassandra listen as it did feel different to the others and I am hoping for more banter between the two leads in the next two stories.

I love both the Phanton Bride and the Devil Cat (in fact I think the former was the first DS audio I heard).
The Devil Cat in particular has some very subtle and nuanced performances.
