I've listened to mine and loved it but you may want someone more impartial.

Anyone listened to this yet? I'm very tempted but need a bit more convincing ... Cheers Tony I have listened to the 1st story.and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am sure you are aware that this differs greatly from the lost episodes. originally starring Ian Hendry and Patrick Macnee,(these are gritty crime stories).Where as by the time "Mrs peel" arrives "The Avengers" had evolved into "A tongue in cheek" fantasy, featuring a motley crew of larger than life Villains and sinister organisations. All out to rule the world of course. It had become a "jolly jape"(I talk of the tv show) Have never read the comic strip, but I am sure they stretch things even further. But lost episodes they aint nor ever were intended to be.(never the less entertaining and highly amusing) Hope that helps.

Thanks for that. So these are more or less in the vein of the tv series (with Mrs Peel)? That's the impression I get from the previews anyway and I quite like the "tongue in cheek" style . I haven't listened to any of the lost stories so I won't miss the differences. Thanks Tony

Wow, I just adored this release, it is just so on the money, the casting is superb, the writing is without comprimise. Just absolutley fantastic entertainment. It just made me re-listen to the other Big Finish Avengers stuff. Possibly one of the strongest releases since the last one (LOL!). Well done everyone involved in this.

When it does, im going to tell the wife and kids to leave me in peace for 4 hours.

Listened to the first one with my dad who watched the original series when it first aired. We both really enjoyed it and felt like we were listening to the soundtrack from a 1967 episode. Genuinely laugh-out-loud moments and a great storyline.

Fantastic release. Very happy I put aside time today to listen to it.
I feel that The Avengers releases have been some of the strongest work from Big Finish - and the Comic Strip Adaptations are just as strong.

Just started this - how great is it to hear that music! All very much larger than life so far and great fun!

I just have had this release on a constant replay, I love the way that this is high on the comedy, and it just oozes that feel of the original Avengers. Looking forward to the next one in the series. Tony is bang on the money that music is fantastic.

My box set arrived today. I am looking forward to the listening to the stories, but I must say that the packaging is very disappointing...

I'm pacing myself. I've listened to the first episode, Return to Castle De'ath and hugely enjoyed it. It's silly, larger-than-life colourful season 5 stuff, but done beautifully. Some of my further thoughts here.

Just started this - how great is it to hear that music! All very much larger than life so far and great fun! That theme music is truly great. Did anyone else hear a voiceover in their head saying "From the makers of Cold Water Omo..." whilst that music played?
