Well, how would Five know, really? Given that The Master doesn't gain the ability to steal bodies until Keeper but he doesn't yet have the death worm morphant form the TV Movie, and that The Master recognizes Five on sight and doesn't have any "oh you've got a new face" convo, I'm tentatively placing this after Master in my timeline (which, incidentally, puts all of Beevers' Main Range appearances post-Survival). I'd recommend staying in your seat until the ride has come to a complete standstill... Oh, if you insist :3

A good one and some interesting characterisations from Mr Barnes. In the end a lot of characters to juggle but mostly managed.

We talk on the talk on the podcast, or was it here, of this story really being a 12 part story I'm thinking of waiting until all the releases are available and then binging them. Or I might give in to temptation because who has time for instant gratification?

I found this one to be just terrific. A good sized supporting cast with great performances all around, not least of which was Geoffrey Beevers's Master. It's so easy to be charmed by him that sometimes you lose yourself in that. This was one of those terrific stories where the Master's evil is laid bare. The only part of the story I thought didn't quite work were the alien groups trying to capture the Master; to me they felt tacked on, something like filler to pad out runtime.
But that's a small complaint in a story I otherwise quite enjoyed. The Fifth Doctor has never been my favourite era of Who, but the releases featuring Davison this year have been, so far, all excellent. Needless to say, that makes them even more impressive to me.

This story may end up setting up the next two Monthly Range releases, but for now it plays like a self-contained story.

I enjoyed it but I have to say it was a bit hard for me to follow who was who at times. Mikey was definitely the teen I was most interested in as he had a clear voice for me throughout the story that helped me emphasize with his character.
My favorite episode was probably the 3rd where we saw just how the Master manipulated those kids using their own insecurities and lonlieness( as most teens would have) against them.
The Master as a "father" was also an interesting concept.

So, assuming that the Doctor was correct about this being in between Deadly Assassin and Keeper of Traken for the Master, what does it mean now that we know that the Master was already possessing a human body in Keeper of Traken? Does that mean that Ainley was actually a Time Lord mind in a human body possessing a Trakenite? And then, after the warp core took away Tremas' body, was the Master back to just being a human?

I'm inclined to think Five's wrong on the placement, just because he doesn't know, as we do, that The Master returns to being Beevers after Ainley.

Hi I'm new to the whole Main Range subscription thing. I've bought my first 'up-to-date' subscription starting with Aquitaine, and when I went to download it the PDF of the script was already there. The same thing for The Peterloo Massacre - the PDF script and Short Trip were both listed as ready to download the moment the story was released. With And You Will Obey Me, however, I haven't got the option to download the script yet. Has anyone else got that option yet? Though, admittedly, I'm not likely to actually read it, it is supposed to be in my 'exclusive content' as a subscriber. I was wondering whether it is common for the script PDF to not be ready for download immediately upon release, and whether it was just chance that the first two releases in my subscription did have the scripts? EDIT: By the way, I enjoyed the story, but personally felt that Beevers should have had a more prominent role in the first half. Being marketed as a 'Two Masters Trilogy', I expected there to be more of the Master in it (though I'm sure it will be more than made up for in The Two Masters itself )

What an unexpectedly dark preamble to the triolgey and usual, first-rate release. A haunting tale of lost innocence and corrupted youth.
It's dark stuff, this. From the campy veneer removed from The Master to reveal a twisted, stunted child-like thing with the brain of a Time Lord, to The Master feeling right at home with not quite children, not quite adults - a big kid bossing the littles one about - and breaking them from their set paths into his own image to cope with his isolation. Even freeing them from the curse of adulthood, indeed, that horrible kiss of death before bed time.
But what what is most disturbing was The Master's relationship with Michael, very much The Doctor subsistute. A sweet affable young man who maybe, just maybe is hanging with the wrong crowd. The Master wants him all to himself, but never understanding him for a moment - and while Death In Heaven provided some intresting insights into The Master's relationship to The Doctor, I'd actually argue it's done far better and far more subtly here through The Master's machinations with Michael then Missy's loud proclimations. Here, we really feel it through what The Master makes this innocent young man do and what The Master wants The Doctor to become, never knowing he'd lose everything he cherishes about him in the process. And like The Doctor, Michael is set on the path of The Master's wrath by virture of being who he is - but unlike The Doctor, he is just an ordinary man and easily ensared.

Brilliant creepy gripping audio drama that held my attention from beginning to end, is it me or does Geoffrey Beevers Master sound like Vincent Price with those scary vocals?, this is shaping up to be yet another amazing trilogy.
Gets a 9/10 from me.

I haven't listened to it yet but was wondering where it fit into the 5th Doctors timeline?

I haven't listened to it yet but was wondering where it fit into the 5th Doctors timeline? I don't think it's made explicitly clear, but at one point he mentions having left the ladies somewhere to come investigate the signal from the Master's TARDIS. Unless there are any other references I missed, I just assume this one follows the previous Monthly Range release.

It's between The Awakening and Frontios for the Doctor, he mentions Little Hodgecombe. He was doing so TARDIS maintenance when he picked up the signal that draws him into And You Will Obey Me, so obviously Tegan is spending time with her grandfather and Turlough is doing who knows what.
