I think it a fairly safe bet that BF staffers will not be putting a face in here.

I think it a fairly safe bet that BF staffers will not be putting a face in here. You never know. They might fancy a little online debate inbetween working on audio dramas!

I generally agree with you, but at the moment we have no connection with them whereas before, we knew we could get answers to questions and had a good rapport with them (as well as the writers, producers). I think that's the real shame. Cheers Tony

Maybe some of the writers might join up at some point

It is a shame, but they shot themselves in the foot, before they could control rumours, put right wrongs and much more, now they don't have a chance.
Personally I would welcome writers etc but BF customer service and marketing people are not going to be welcome by me (speaking personally, as admin I would go with consensus).

I'm not happy with the way the BF Forum was shut down either. But I wouldn't have a problem with BF staff joining here, if they should wish to.

I would not mind if some BF staff showed up here as well. There's a difference between worrying about the contents of a forum you are managing, and just having a few nice words to say in the act of promoting and generating interest in one's product...
So anyway, Tin Dog (Michael)'s question here was, who are we missing? I've been wondering, has anyone heard from QuatermassAU? In a way I helped encourage him to post more on the BF forums. I was going to have a look at the site I first found his reviews at, but I find that I have deleted the bookmark I had of it.

If we're going to have participation from Stevo, then we also need his other veteran half...

Once we have been here a while.

I think we should contact Ian and ask him to update his "closing the forum" post to include our URL here. And yes, I think DS's Joe Lidster & DW's Dorney, at the very least, should get invites.
Also missing: TheWhovian.

Also missing: TheWhovian. I've contacted a couple of people and one of the Admins has tried to contact Nick (on a different matter). So far we have had no response. I'm not really surprised as they probably don't want to be seen to be associated with another forum at the moment. Hopefully they will pop over, lurk and if we are found worthy, might join at some point. Cheers Tony

I suspect the issue of not getting back to us is down to overflowing inboxes, taking salient points from the somewhat unfocused scatter 2nd news release about the War Doctor we learn "Our fans have reached out to us through Facebook, Twitter and even good old fashioned snail-mail – and our enquiry in-box is still full to bursting!" that combined with what I expect is some embarrassment in the way they handled our ejection from their forums means were not getting replies or the time needed for replies to be made.

Their fans could also have reached out to them via threads on their own forum if they'd kept it open! Getting War Doctor audios is very big news and we'd have supported it just as much as the social media users. A weird news item that was though, they could have read two e-mails from their bursting inbox in the time that it took them to type that 'news' item out and put it online!

I'm glad it's not just me that thought that news release was... well as you say weird.
