Thanks Cody. Must have been during a copy and paste moment! It's fixed now. I should update that version with B&F and EotP...the PDF has them, but that first post doesn't.

Have you considered putting together a timeline for the Parallel Time seen on the show?

Have you considered putting together a timeline for the Parallel Time seen on the show? Not really, because if you notice, my timeline is strictly for the audios, not the TV series. There are very few items mentioned on it that are not part of the audios...those very few are only major life events...birth of Carolyn Soddard, birth of Roger Collins, Maggie Evans committed, etc. I think there are probably only 4 or 5 of these, and they're only on here as context for listening to the audios. With that in mind, parallel time is already included on it--as it's been presented thus far in the audio stories. I believe there is already a substantial overall DS Wiki which includes both TV and audios, and may also already include TV parallel time?

Updated the chronology to date, in the first post of this thread. Question: On these short stories, should the reader be a part of the updated cast list? Since we've already established that the reader isn't necessarily portraying the main character, I'm a bit on the fence for this. Yes, Nancy Barrett is definitely Carolyn, and Stephanie Ellyne is definitely Amy, but is Marie Wallace playing Liz? Is Matthew Waterhouse playing Harry? Not really....especially if the story is a third-person narrative. What are your thoughts on this?

Let's see... Something is definitely happening to Harry in that story that would be good to have on a timeline, right?
Could you give entries like that an asterisk or whatever if you want to indicate a departure from the customary performer?

Not really....especially if the story is a third-person narrative. What are your thoughts on this? I would say no, you shouldn't add third-person readers to cast lists. We're being told a story. Only if it's a first-person story then the reader is *playing* that part, as that character tells someone what happened to them, like a one person monologue play. Compare it to Curse of the Pharaoh, where Carolyn reports Elizabeth dialogue back, you wouldn't add Elizabeth to Nancy's parts because she never actually *plays* Elizabeth without a remove of one level. So treat a third-person storyteller like that, and continue to treat a first-person storyteller as only actually playing their first-person role.

Oh I don't think Tracy is considering not including the *content* in the timeline, just whether to list performers in the cast list.

Sorry, I seem to have been mixing up the discussion with the last one like it. It's probably still perking away in the back of my mind how to get Barnabas and Julia's appearance in Harvest of Souls into the timeline somehow. :-)

Thanks Robert...that's how I was leaning too. Good to have validation!
And yes--you're right. The plots of the short stories are included in the timeline--just not the narrators in the cast list.

Giving this thread a "bump" to the top because the first post in it has been updated to date, including Short Story Collection 4: Dreams of Long Ago and the cast list.

Thanks again for all the work you do, Trace. These updates really provide a fascinating perspective on the Dark Shadows universe. Glad you enjoy! And thank you for the kind words! The perspective may be a bit skewed at times coming from my warped mind, but if it's fascinating, then I'm very pleased.

Well sometimes seeing another's warped mind on Dark Shadows realities helps me come out of my own, haha.

He actually links to SRandom’s chronological listen-thru—which is a different thread—not to my timeline on this one.
