Could it be that Ian McKellan is in the War Master set(s) coming up. It would certainly make a lot of sense with Jacobi and McKellan being so close.

I suppose what puts me off that idea is that....and perhaps arguably, but McKellen is the bigger actor. So I'm not sure what War Master story would be done where Jacobi is upstaged (in terms of billing at least) by an actor that presumably isn't playing any recognisable old character (I doubt The Intelligence joins the Time War), so at that point you're casting a huge actor as an original character? I mean, possible, sure. But it'd just be....very surprising to me.

Fair, my thinking was is that Jacobi asked McKellan himself since he and him, and Patrick Stewart are all good friends and have done many things together.

The irony is that Ian McKellen was never the Great Intelligence, just the 'filter'.

Just to quash a bit of speculation - those photos are taken from another studio Big Finish uses, but which is also used by other companies (BBC, Audible, etc), so the photos are from a variety of different productions (the photo of Richard Wilson and Ian McKellen being from a recording of the Radio 4 mockumentary Believe It!)

Thanks for the clarification. (Just saying, if in the event of McKellen getting involved that’d be an almost guaranteed pre-order)

I would guess this was for "Too Many Masters" on the basis of the evidence we have.

So some tidbits at Gallifrey One...
Freema was in two minds about coming back and apparently Eve talked her into it. There’s something Martha-related to be announced in DWM in the upcoming months (Boy, I wonder what that could be!)
Apparently Ewan McGregor said yes to being in an Unbound back in the day, but then Star Wars got in the way of that.

Unless he was meant to voice one of the comedy Time Lords or one of the Doctor’s friends in ‘Exile’ In which case, I’d say he dodged a bullet there.

This is kinda the opposite to Big Finish news, but Eccleston was asked about Big Finish again at Gallifrey 1 and gave a fairly definitive answer on the subject-

Let’s not forget that Tom used to tell stories at cons about trashing the scripts BF sent to him, and now look at him - he’s recorded 10+ series of the Fourth Doctor Adventures and he’s going to be back as the Curator too. The only difference is that Tom had a more positive experience when in the show than Eccleston, but people can still change their minds.
But saying that, I’m still not holding my breath for him to return.

Yeah, we should always remember that although it would nice to see Eccleston reprise his role he really has no obligation to. Something we should all keep in mind really.
