I *love* that Big Finish are now actively warning their actors not to share script details on social media, or on their Spotlight pages, before the product is released. Are they? My god they're BF not Star Wars! & how are they warning them? Threatening that they'll not work with then again? Is it even legal to do so? Not a good look for BF here. Wow. That’s letting your imagination run away with you. Going from a polite request (with ‘please’ and ‘thank you’) to threats? Where are you even getting that from?

Well, that does make it harder for them to differentiate the titles if they’ve done more than one. And also - people will just forget. There’s definitely one instance of a script with this on the cover making it to Spotlight. I get that. I appreciate BF have marketing plans in place, but is it the end of days if an actor puts it up early? Those of us who end up seeing it are gonna buy it anyway. Then again, I'm not a corporate person so I'm going by a layman's understanding. If it means the news could filter out in dribs and drabs rather than hit hard (and therefore get a bit more traction and publicity) it could affect sales. Also - there have been multiple times when these things have got a little out of hand, where speculation has been way off beam given the lack of full information or incorrect information. I’ve seen something where people say ‘x is in the can’, when that couldn’t be further from the truth and so on.

Thanks for taking the time to talk it through with me, I do let my excitement get away from me when it comes to BF, but it's only from a place of love.

How does it work in practice when release dates get moved about? If an actor is told at time of recording X will be out next June, but then it slips back to November, do BF inform the actor to delay the CV update?
Also, out of interest, do actors maintain their own CVs or does their agent do it for them? Only asking out of pure ignorance

And of course there are CVs on Agent websites in addition to Spotlight. In terms of moving dates - no idea. I’m rarely aware of when anything I write is coming out when I’m writing it, and I think I only know when something I’m acting in is coming out if it’s something like the 4DAs (where I’m resolutely aware of when and where they all are. Well, most of the time). I will admit there is a certain joy in telling the actors in a Tom story when it will be out.

I suppose it's a fine line, isn't it? I suspect on the whole most story titles aren't much of an issue being on CV's, but if the title is spoilery, part of an unannounced box set or they mention the cast they've worked with, that's when the speculation kicks off. I absolutely don't blame someone, or their agent, for mentioning they've recorded with David Tennant & Alex Kingston, especially in their most famous roles, if it helps to get them further work.
Big Finish are a little unique in that their work is done prior to the announcement, unlike, say, film and television where there's a press release beforehand. I understand the polite notice, but ultimately it doesn't mean a great deal either way.

I think you should write future scripts in a special invisible ink that only shows up near a warm glow.

Creators try to keep leaks from happening and surprise their audience. Fans try to suss out every little detail they can glean and pick it apart because it's fun.
A tale as old as time.

Doctors 6-8 did an online panel. Colin Baker is recording a Big Finish story next week, Sylvester can't record while in France, and while Paul doesn't outright confirm it, it strongly sounds like he's recorded something from home.

I'd hazard a guess Colin's is his Out of Time contribution (or rewrites for Lovecraft if GallifreyBase speculation is to be believed) Shame about Sylv, his Doc could end up being largely absent from BF for the next year due to this. Paul is likely doing Stranded 2 from home, unless they're planning to push it back till he can get into a studio.
