How could we forget to mention Rita, Sue and Bob too? Thinking back to Peter Davison's Autobiography, maybe Rod, Jane & Freddy would be welcome aboard too...

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but given he talks about ‘casting’, I imagine these are cracking people for guest roles. Fingers crossed for Judi dench

RTD has just stated on The One Show Scott Handcock is producing an adaptation of his 80s Six/Mel script for BF. Can someone explain to me exactly what this RTD script is? Someone mentioned it on reddit a while ago (and IIRC also said RTD had some other storylines/script ideas he wrote in the 1980's?) and I'm not quite sure what it is? Was it an completed script/storyline he was comissioned to do, or something he submitted to the script editor on spec? It will be very interesting to hear a RTD style release melded to 80's Who... IIRC he also had discusions with Moffat about writing a story for the 12th Doctor, though I'm not sure if a storyline/script was ever actually started.

RTD found it recently and went into details on Twitter Given its existence only became public a month ago this has got to be one of Big Finish’s quickest commissions.

This will be the First 6th Doctor/Mel audio for quite a few years won't it? That makes 12(?) 6th Doctor lost stories to be made into audio now i think? Enjoyed most of them quite a bit so I'm sure I'll get this at some point. Maybe they could finally get 'The Children Of January' sorted out as well and release the two as a boxset... I wonder if Stephen Moffat has any old scripts/proposals lying around half-forgotten...always wondered what he'd do with the 7th Doctor/Ace...

Wondering what range this will go under? Lost stories would technically work although i think it kinda of stretches the definition of what the Lost Stories range is meant to be. Maybes if he had another story they could do a Russell T Davis presents box set? Or it could just go in the replacement main range whenever that materialises.

Could do a full length version of the faux-80s Dalek story RTD’s included in It’s A Sin if they wanted a story to bundle it with.

I did think that but wasn’t sure if it would be too soon and also a potential rights issue. Would be Ace if they could though!

Probably will just be released under the Lost Stories range. Even if that is technically cheating.

I don't see what the problem with releasing it under the Lost Stories banner would be. Under what definition is it not a Lost Story?

The interesting thing is will they approach this as a 1980's style release written by a young RTD, or update it so it feels like a modern RTD style release that happens to have a 1980's pairing in it... IIRC some of the original run of Lost Stories were adapted from incomplete speculative treatments, or 'reserve' storylines that weren't definitely earmarked for production in Season 23, so this dosen't strike me as particularly different, Colin's lost stories don't always feel like simply a replacement Season 23 to me, more like selected glimpses at an extended 6th Doctor era that never was.

An interesting pairing would be if RTD had any Ninth or Tenth outlines/scripts that never made it past a certain point. Penny's introduction??

The 1920s is unlikely to happen since Fry can't remember anything about it. And there's no way BF would touch Roberts with a 20-foot bargepole these days. The Suicide Exhibition and Century House could both be goers, though.

IIRC RTD did discuss a possible storyline with Moffat for the 12th Doctor, I'm not sure if it ever got past the ideas stage but that would be interesting to hear, if Capaldi ever joins the BF fold-a post showrunner RTD trying to write in the style of a Moffat story...
