Total guess, but could it be a new Robin Hood thing? Those were released 13 years ago this very month... I’m hoping it’s Highlander. Bring Christopher Lambert into the mix!

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I’d love that. Also, he’d make a pretty good Master, in the vein of an anti-Eric Roberts.

So I have been to FedCon today and during the panel with Chris Eccleston, I did my duty as the BF question mistress. So Chris shared some pretty big news, which when I heard them, I was a bit like „oups, here go the beans“. Warning: ONLY read this if you are prepared for SPOILERS. You have been warned. Now, I hope you are sitting down. {Spoiler} While Chris is NOT in the TV 60th, he recorded for the BF 60th. Not only that, but he recorded at least one scene with DAVID WARNER. He thinks, rightfully so! that Warner is an icon and the recording with Warner was one of his most memorable things he did with BF. Chris even asked the hall full of fans if everybody knew who David Warner was! Plus, Chris really enjoys his work with BF, he is happy doing it, they do great scripts, he is very happy that some BF writers are now doing the TV show, everything appears to be FANTASTIC. So yeah, there is more to come. Yes, he does do it for the money, and admitted as much, BUT there was a real passion for it, too.
Interesting. And I’m glad he’s getting some further recognition for his take on the Doctor. And rightly so! In fact, it does make me wonder if the Gatiss Master will end up being the main villain for said event... Would be a nice parallel to the 50th with Geoffrey Beevers Master

So Atleast we have confirmation on both Tom Baker and Christopher Eccleston being in the 60th

It’s worth noting that it’s just as likely to be David Warner playing another character as it is his Unbound Doctor. I’m inclined to think that it’s not his Doctor given Eccleston’s previous comments, but if he’s as enamoured with Warner as it seems, then there are always exceptions to the rule. It’s nice to have confirmation that Eccleston is participating in the 60th to some degree, though, and I always love his honesty and take on things. Hope you’re having the best time, tuigirl ! With the recent Benny announcement, I doubt BF would have included Warner for the 60th and not wanted to use his Doctor. Potentially, but he’s absent from The Legacy of Time and was recording Benny sets around then. Also given his Unbound status and anniversary releases being a big opportunity for new customers, they may be understandably wary about including him, especially with so many other Doctors to juggle. Masterful shows it can be done, although that was with fewer incarnations. He’s done a lot of work for Big Finish, his Doctor isn’t on screen and Eccleston has previously been wary of multi-Doctor interactions. If it’s his Unbound Doctor, then great, but I don’t think we should jump to conclusions just yet, as there’s quite a few factors against that until we know for certain.

This is exciting news but the best part of this is that Chris is enjoying himself with BF, even if it is for money, I'm glad he's passionate for it too.

David Warner recorded as the Unbound Doctor. For the 60th or a new Benny Boxset?

David Warner recorded as the Unbound Doctor. For the 60th or a new Benny Boxset? {Spoiler} To be totally honest, I think for both! Although Eccleston did not say which character Warner played. Maybe the Unbound Doctor is even the villain in the 60th special? Wouldn't that be a reveal!

To be fair, I could see it being Warner Doctor opposite the Ninth. One chose not to fight in the war while the other fought on the front lines. Definitely think that’s an idea worth exploring.

I was thinking the 9 meeting the Valeyard could be intersting. The Valeyard being the only Gallifreyan from teh Doctor's past that the 9th Doctor could expect to meet in future, and a distinct symbol of his guilt at going too far during the war?

It’s a great idea, but not one I’m sure they’d explore given Eccleston’s reluctance to touch upon his TV run. His audios have featured a couple of natural opportunities to explore or have a conversation about it, most notably with the Brigadier, but haven’t. I’d love to be proven wrong at some point, though!

More Michael Jayston would be great it’s a shame they haven’t really done much of the valeyaed with other doctors

However, Eccleston said that he liked playing the Doctor as having PTSD and that it is a powerful character defining tool. He himself could draw from all his pain and suffering to make it work. I actually do not think it unlikely that they will come back to that. But probably in their own dedicated story. Not as part of an event. Because stories like that need room.

Slightly off-topic, but a bit of context for BF's not being able to adapt the "Campion" books. The latest volume of "Bodies in the Library" is out this week, and lists a number of Golden Age detectives rumoured to be being adapted to tv in the near future, and Campion was one of them.

So for everyone who wants to check it out for themselves- here is the complete panel with Chris Eccleston from FedCon 30. There are several people asking for Big Finish news, it is not just me. So yeah, it appears to also be quite popular over here. And yeah, don't mind my heavy accent. 10 years in NZ did not cure me of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8OYXjiycFw

Interesting. Considering new Campion stories are being written all the time with the character continuing to age you could actually do a continuation of the 80s series with Davison reprising the role. Although Brian Glover is sadly no longer around to play Lugg.
