An adaptation of the NA Set Piece

In a special limited edition box set called 'Ace: The Last Adventure'. Three stories leading up to a fourth that sees Ace leave the Doctor, kind of like an RTD Era series with a bit dramatic conclusion.

I dunno, any time Ace left in the books, she came back! So Ace and departure in the same sentence never turns out to be quite as enjoyable as it first sounds!

An adaptation of the NA Set Piece I second this, would love a Set Piece adaption. Would also like a Lungbarrow adaption, but with Ace staying on Gallifrey at the end, which would fit in with her being in the Gallifrey Series

Someone once suggested a boxset that celebrated the continuities rather than overwriting them. Like a Last Adventure style story that has stories like this:
Story One (Ace or Ace/Raine) Story Two & Three in whichever order (Ace/Hex & Ace/Benny) Story Four (Ace on Gallifrey)
The only problem is that you have to definitively give an order for Ace's adventures in that case.
In any case, I'd love to see a story where Ace and the Doctor are dealing with a time break, with the twist being that the Doctor has cheated death to bring her back to life (off-handedly referencing Ground Zero) and is now dealing with the consequences. This could lead to her staying on Gallifrey.

My theory is that the Doctor and the TARDIS may have fallen out by the beginning of the TV Movie because we know the TARDIS always takes the Doctor where he needs to go, so why did she take him to a gang of gangsters? The TARDIS lets Ace in but not the Doctor, takes her to Gallifrey, then the Doctor forces the TARDIS back against its will, she lets him take the Master's ashes to Skaro because he needs to do it then decides to teach him a lesson by taking him to his current incarnation's death at the hands of gangsters. That makes the Doctor and the TARDIS even with both each other and death, meaning in the TV Movie they have made up once 7 becomes 8.

Well the Seventh Doctor did leave her behind for something like thirty books...

Two different things. A boxset where she leaves to join the Tim Lord academy, and then have a Gallifrey/Time War type story where she dies.
By the way I've not heard Enemy Lines yet, so maybe....
No spoilers.

How do I want it handled? Sooner rather than later.

Well We do need a story were she joins the Academy, that is the priority Ace story i feel. Any VNA Adapts where she leaves and comes back are extra's tbh

Someone once suggested a boxset that celebrated the continuities rather than overwriting them. Yup, that was me. It's good to see that there's still some discussion on this.

Well, the Master was interfering with the controls at the time. The TARDIS does have a mind of its own though. Of course she does, but she can still be controlled. Since the Master got into the controls right before the TARDIS landed in San Francisco, I'm going to blame him instead of the TARDIS.

If you just follow Ace's continuity on audio it can seem a bit disjointed. Ace does leave the Doctor in Love and War, then she is back in Theatre of War with out her return really being covered.
She is then gone again after Dark Flame, then later turns up in Bennys New Adventures/Gallifrey on her way to being a Time Lord.
So if you like to go back listen to these things in continuity order (as I do, as sad as that might be) then those gaps can irritate a bit.
In my ideal world, we'd either get an adaption of Deciet, Lucifer Rising. Or a new story set soon after she rejoins the Doctor, exploring or at least covering her return and time with Spacefleet. And as Spacefleet was name dropped in the last Gallifrey EL, I'm hopeful maybe we might get something like this one day, with it now being adopted in her Big Finish continuity. (Maybe a Starfleet Ace vs Daleks mini Spin-Off anyone?)
Also, as I said above, an adaption of Set Piece and Lungbarrow. Or atleast Lungbarrow as that would also round off the Chris and Roz story as well. Just tweaking the end so Ace stays on Gallifrey at the end. It seems an obvious thing to do and if I remember right Big Finish did try to get Marc Platt to adapt it and he didn't want to. This atleast shows Big Finish were up for an adaption, and you never know maybe Marc Platt may let some one else adapt it for audio?
As far as giving Ace some big final story at or after her time at the Time Lord academy, I'm not sure she really needs one. For me I'd much rather that her narrative gaps on audio were filled and leave her story open for returns and spin-offs far in to the future.

I dunno, maybe just when The Doctor and Ace have given up on her Time Lord Academy application ever being accepted and just when she resolves to remain with The Doctor in perpetuity, they finally approve her application after all and off she goes to Gallifrey, parting with The Doctor on good terms?
I think they're way too good of a team for it to all end in a snit of some kind.
