Wouldn't it be fun to see a pre-Next Doctor Jackson Lake who still believes he is the Doctor appear in The Diary of River Song?
It could have real dramatic weight if it were at a point where River has pictures of every incarnation of the Doctor. Plus it would be one she could actually meet without any mechanic requiring him to forget meeting her, given that he's not actually the Doctor.

No, not really. I have no interest. Sorry.

Jackson Lake seemed an interesting character (from memory, I haven't watched 'the next doctor' in aaaages) and I'd love to hear him return in a story or two, my only worry is filling in too many of the dots might kill the tragedy of his character a little, and having River know more about Jackson than he does could undermine the Doctor, it's similar to the Samson/Gemma argument, is filling in the blanks more fun than a teasing mystery? Personally I rather like the idea that Lake was a accidental companion of the 12th Doctor and he was forced to wipe his memories once he remembered the paradox of his first meeting with him (kinda similar to what happened with Ashildr)

No. His entire arc is in his one episode. There's nothing else to be done there. Sure, the same could be said for, say, Kazran but at least we knew there were many Christmases with The Doctor we didn't see on screen with him.
Getting David Morrisey in for something else? Absolutely. Phenomenal actor with a great radio presence.

Yeah, pretty much what @davygallagher said.

Should? No.
If they appeared might it be an interesting story? It may.
I have no objection to the idea, nor any great desire to see it happen.
But "should", no.

I have simply no interest whatsoever in revisiting this character. I don't doubt there's a way to possibly make his reappearance a PART of an interesting story, but the character himself is simply not interesting to me and, frankly, the episode he comes from was not particularly good in my opinion.

I'd agree with David. Some characters have one good story in them and I feel like we have already gotten Jackson Lake's.

I agree with Davy too. It would be too much for the character and a severe waste that could affect the story to seemingly shoehorn him in

I don't see how having him reappear would serve any purpose - in all honesty had he met River, there is little chance that she would have believed him to be the Doctor and would have set him straight - rendering his appearance in The Next Doctor pointless.
The best way to bring him back would be in an Unbound episode.

I wouldn't mind seeing him after The Next Doctor, but even then, I can't see him being much more than a cameo. If he was a little later in history (with Jago and Litefoot and the Paternoster Gang), it would be a little easier to work him in, but IIRC he's in the 1850s.
