It's actually longer than the first UNIT (New Series) box set. While the episodes are shorter than Big Finish's typical 50-65 minute ones I think it is important to remember that each box set is telling one story over four episodes, not one story per episode with a heavy series-arc. Also, these stories take place over a day or so (presumably. I haven't started Shutdown yet, so just basing it on the first box set). Other box sets which tell one story over 4 x hour-long episodes usually take place over a longer period of time (such as The Judgement of Sherlock Holmes).
Second, these box sets may be formulated for people used to 45 minute modern-day TV episodes (the first box set felt that way to me). Because they are set in the modern day they probably don't need as much scene-setting over the course of the story as other box sets.

Part 1 was awesome.
Part 2 was pretty excellent too, but dragged down a bit because BF continues (god only knows why) to get people who can't do North/American accents to save their lives; it's distracting and a bit off-putting. Fortunately the adventure was engaging enough to hold up despite that.
Can't wait to dive into Part 3.

Harry Ditson (who plays Grant Avery, the only American character in part 2) is an American actor. Born in New York. That's his natural accent (heard again on the behind the scenes disc, where he's interviewed).

I'm starting to think that even if they tried Big Finish would fail miserably at putting out a bad release. This year they've been firing on all cylinders.
The first UNIT set was wonderful, this one has raised the bar.
The first episode had me so engrossed the time flew. The set just got better from there.
To anyone on the fence about getting this set, all I can say is pull out your credit card and order, you won't be disappointed.

Well spotted!! you are absolutely correct. One of the episodes in Boxset 1 was only 37 minutes long. But it was a great listen!! Have not listened to this yet,but I am sure it will be equally as good!(If not better)

Minor nitpick, but why is Warren Brown with Jemma and Ingrid at the top of the cast list? Sam Bishop only has a major role in the final episode. Either give him a bigger role in all four stories or give that slot to James Joyce, who was actually important to all four episodes!

The only reason I can think of is maybe because he has more credits and might be a more recognisable name then James Joyce?

Even though Warren Brown's name is on the cover it's more often noticeable for his absence from the story as opposed to him actually being in it.

I presume he only agrees to do a certain amount for each set, as they seem to deliberately keep his involvement minimal. I'd say it was stunt casting, only I've never heard of him (then again, I'm the one who only knew of John Hurt as "that bloke from Alien" so that probably says more about me than him)

Love Luther, but the pictures I saw didn't ring any bells.

Perhaps a little flat but very much a standard American dialect. And as noted below, the actor playing him is from New York. I have not gotten to the special features disc yet, so I'm curious as to how he speaks off mic.

I did an episode a day this week and had a hard time sticking to just one each day. The first UNIT set is fantastic so I had fairly high expectations for this one and it definitely met them. UNIT is already developing into one of my favorite ranges. Big Finish is really killing it with these so far.
