A Cyberman story in volume three or up would be great, as long as there's a decent hook for the Cybermen. Sometimes the usual MO isn't good enough. I've suggested it before but I'd love to see a Cybermen story that takes place after some of their invasions and deals with the leftovers. We never saw what happened after The Invasion. It's not unwise to assume that a few stragglers were left behind. It's much more interesting than having the Cybermen invade Earth once again. I also think it would be great to explore what exactly UNIT does after an invasion. It'd be a neat way of bringing things full circle with the modern UNIT. We never saw what Classic UNIT did with all that alien technology.

Isn't the Blue Tooth about Cybermen left behind from The Invasion?

Isn't the Blue Tooth about Cybermen left behind from The Invasion? I think Closing Time owes a bit to The Blue Tooth to be fair.

Aargh, the shadowed Third Doctor really annoys me. They're perfectly happy to stick Pertwee all over other covers that feature the Third Doctor, so I don't understand what the thinking is here.

Yeah, it annoys me too. I suppose they've done it that way because it's a different actor playing the Third Doctor, but at the same time, isn't that true of the Early Adventures? First and Second Doctors aren't played the original actors, so I don't understand the thinking behind it.

I suppose the difference with the Early Adventures/CC's is that they are partly narrated and the actors voicing the Doctors are all companions as well, so some may deem these stories more official or willing to accept the recasts, Treloar is a recast but wasn't involved in the TV series, so keeping 3's face in shadow perhaps a comprise aimed at appeasing some listeners? I haven't listened to the 3DA (and probably never will, wasn't a huge fan of the 3rd Doctor's era) but I'm not sure how I feel about it...

Love the cover, including the shadowed Pertwee as I think it adds a mysterious vibe to it. Great job tomweb

Wow, I really like the cover for this! All the covers lately have been superb and this is just continuing the trend! And while I'm not the biggest fan of the shadowed Pertwee sidebar, I appreciate the consistency between this box set and the first.

Thanks for the lovely comments all!
Re the silhouette, the thought was definitely that Treloar's 3rd Doctor performances are so much more prominent than the actor's various performances in the Early Adventures or CCs. We thought it'd be doing Tim a bit of a disservice by putting prominent pictures of Jon Pertwee on the covers. A sillhoette seemed the best solution.
Once this had been decided the 'turn a potential limitation into a strength' side of my job came into play & I decided to make that particular shot a central feature on every cover, for consistency. I've subtly changed the colour of his costume, which I'll probably keep doing.
Looking forward to doing the next one! Not sure what's planned, but gosh I'd love a cyberman story!

I think it's a great cover and reminds me how much I'm looking forward to this next box-set. For me, the difference between Tim Treloar playing the Third Doctor as opposed to Frazer and Peter Purves/William Russell playing the Second and First Doctors is that Tim has been brought in to exlusively play the title role, whereas the others are playing other parts as well. This Third Doctor is a 100% recast, whereas the earlier incarnations are voiced by actors who have already played other characters for some considerable time. That's my take on it: the blurring of the Third Doctor's features on the covers presents no problem to me at all

I still don't get why theyve blacked out Pertwee's face. It's not as if they black out Troughton when Fraser plays the second Doctor.
