Jupiter Ascending (2015) Visually a great film, but for the people who created The Matrix the story is cliched as hell
300: Rise of An Empire (2014) Not really a story/sequel/prequel we needed
True Story (2015) Now this was disturbing and features great turns from Hill, Franco and Jones

Outland - fairly slow but with a good build, with Sean Connery waiting for the hit squad to arrive at the space station.
Big Trouble in Little China - "it's all in the reflexes.." I do love John Carpenter's good films!

Defendor (2010) Definitely more heartfelt than I expected. Harrelson is brilliant here

I do love John Carpenter's good films! Nice. Big Trouble's got one of my favourite lines in cinema: "Hey, I'm a reasonable guy. But, I've just experienced some very unreasonable things." Jupiter Ascending (2015) Visually a great film, but for the people who created The Matrix the story is cliched as hell300: Rise of An Empire (2014) Not really a story/sequel/prequel we needed True Story (2015) Now this was disturbing and features great turns from Hill, Franco and Jones I wonder if Jupiter Ascending might've worked better with each segment being a former life building up until the present day? It seems so disjointed going from set piece to set piece (with the occassional flash of, well, Flash Gordon).

The Bleeder (2016) Told the story of Chuck Wepner, the man who inspired Rocky. Liv Schrieber is amazing (cant spell his surname lol)
Bunraku (2010) The standard story but told in the most visually stunning way. Loved it, even if it did sag in the middle a bit

Midnight Special (2016) Loved how this jumped into the story and we got bits and pieces revealed as it went on. Great cast
The Eyes of Laura Mars (1978) Really enjoyed this. still a classic. even if the ending is somewhat tacked on because the killer wasn't originally meant to be revealed

Couple of contrasting ones over the Weekend
The Frontrunner
(Hugh Jackman goes to Acting 101 as Gary Hart who ran against G W Bush Snr for President and become the focus in the first widely publicised Politian in affair scandal. For a lot of the film its actually a good debate, Is/Was there ever a line in Politics for Personal Matters/ The Public's Right to Know/Scandal Sells News?)
Riot Girls
(Think if 90210 turned into The 100. After a plague wipes out the Adult Population, High School jocks and the popular kids impose a violent Martial Law. 2 young Women [also a Couple] lead a group of "Unpopular" and pre-teen kids in a quest for survival.)

Executive Decision I still love this film. Great moments. Only just reading that a lot of Leguiziamo's stuff in the second half was originally planned for Seagal

Heartbreak Ridge (1986) Always thought this was a very underrated Eastwood film. Closer to what he's been doing the past few years than what he was doing at the time

Yesterday I watched 'Mummy Reborn' and 'Pet Graveyard' (though I did fast forward through a couple of parts)
Dear "horror" film,
If you're going to have a group of stoners camping in the woods (which is, maybe, getting a little overdone now?), could you at least make sure they're decently portrayed?
I know you're (very obviously) low-budget, but you could at least try to finding more than "yay, I'm acting!" actors...

Rambo: Last Blood, you all know i love me Stallone films but this was a very dark depressive movie which left me feeling numb.
The Rambo franchise concludes with the fourth film for me as it gave the character closure & peace.
This never felt like a Rambo movie, sorry Sly, your my action hero but you ruined the characters legacy with this instalment, I've literally given up hope on movies now......
Why Sly why?
