^ Ah, you too eh? I don't think I have it in me to do one every day, but I do have a few I intend to watch this month! Starting with....Home Alone earlier today!
And on a totally unrelated note, National Treasure this evening. Lol

Outbreak Havent watched this in years. Hoffman going for righteous indignation for all he's worth
Knives Out This was fantastic. Great cast, perfect story. It seems that Rian Johnson is always better when he's working on his own stuff

I'm another starting to get 'into' the Christmas spirit (for, ahem, script research purposes). Over lunch today I watched 'Christmas Mail', a little weird in places (I'm looking at you sprinkle fight!) but I enjoyed it... Ok.
I did start watching 'Christmas Connection' but had to stop ten-odd minutes in as my mother came home & wanted to watch something else whilst she had lunch - Let me guess what happens; the lead doesn't get the promotion she wants but hey, at least she gets to date the unaccompanied minor's dad!
I had planned on watching 'Die Hard' last night but didn't get round to it due to my work's 'do' (I'm on the fence about it being a Christmas film, but thought it best to 'get it out of the way' early)

2001: A Space Odyssey - I picked up the new 4K scan last month, and man it was incredible. I'm shocked a film of its age is in such pristine condition. Not a speck of dirt, no damage, no scratches. Razor sharp definition. Absolutely spotless. It's a cliche phrase, but in 99% of shots, it could've been filmed yesterday.
The movie itself, I hate the ape-men section, I think it's boring and way too long. If we'd started at or just before contact with the monolith, I don't think we'd have lost anything of importance. Once we actually get to space, everything else is A+ (well, except the creepy af space fetus). This movie better than any over conveys a feeling of awe at space travel and at the unknowable.
But yeah, I don't mind slow pacing and extended sections with no dialogue, I don't mind the very weird finale, I just don't like the monkey-men. Or Stanley Kubrick in general, but that's a blasphemy for another time.
Also I apparently had a false memory because I could've sworn they showed Bowman actually entering the monolith at the end but they don't - just his pod approaching it and then the monolith spinning away by itself. He also doesn't say it's full of stars. Hm.

Knives Out This was fantastic. Great cast, perfect story. It seems that Rian Johnson is always better when he's working on his own stuff Is he.....thought he only does stuff he writes...... I not seen his tv work on breaking bad but his movies I don’t think are great. he makes great assumptions in his direction, leaving his storytelling disjointed while he got away with it in looper with a good twist but paper thin plot and lumbering direction, last jedi was just a series of set pieces with no proper connection with some working and some not, and knives out was just bad, came across like a bad Agatha Christie TV movie with disparate actors trying to out do each other in the ham acting stakes. i was really disappointed as the trailer looked great...l save ya selves some money and watch some hokey Christie adaption like crooked house or mirror cracked on channel 5 for me at lest, he’s a bit like m night shamalar good ideas but only successfull some of the time.........l

Over lunch yesterday I watched 'Noelle'. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it at first, but, you know, the ending was actually fairly sweet! At the moment I'm currently watching 'A Princess For Christmas'. Roger Moore, Kate McGrath and Miles Richardson in a Christmas film, I never thought I'd see the day

I would rather he swam someone else's pool than his after that......lol

Outbreak however great movie, Dustin Hoffman speech about dropping the bomb refusing to move is a tense moment in the movie.

This afternoon at the cinema I saw 'Last Christmas', not the best film I've seen this year, but still a relatively fun (if obvious) way to spend a Wednesday afternoon...
Not to be a nitpick or anything film, but if you're set in 2017 why is 'The Inheritance' playing?

Dirty Cops
(French oddly toned drama. 2 cops trying to infiltrate the Mafia find their way in through a failing Pornography Studio, however they realize they can actually make the most money from it by arresting the Mafia and making the studio as legitimate as possible. I say its oddly toned because there is a couple of very dark LOL moments in it.)
