The Irishman - I enjoyed it, though it was perhaps a little long, thankful I watched it during the day as I think had I waited until later in the day I might have fallen asleep. As it is, the cat was left comatose. I had to chop that one up, watch it in about 1h blocks at a time. It was a weird way to watch a movie, but I still really liked it.

Batman Begins by Christopher Nolan
How I had never seen this is beyond me. A wonderful sense of world-building from Nolan, with Gotham feeling lived in, and the sense of the criminal underbelly is ever-present as well. Christian Bale is very good at playing Bruce Wayne, but definitely needs work in the Batman department, but that should come by the next in the trilogy. The supporting cast is wonderful with Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson and Micheal Caine being the best parts of the movie. With what I know of Nolan's trilogy, I sense that he loves the villains of Batman more than Batman himself, so I'm excited for what is next. Tim Burton's Batman films are better than this one though we shall see if that remains true for the rest of the trilogy.

A John Wick-esqe assassin film that has a great lead in Mads Mikkelsen, but somehow feels very disconnected and lacking substance to match the very stylish presentation. Kills are all done incredibly well, and Mikkelsen as I said carries the film, but most of the supporting cast are wooden or aren't playing up the absurdity that the film is going for. In saying that, Nardole himself, Matt Lucas, is the main villain and is suitably hamming up the role, finding an R-rated twist on Bond villains that is both creepy and works with the tone of the film. Recommended for fans of the John Wick style, but don't expect an effective plot in this one.

Finding Fatimah - A fun enough rom-com to wind down after work over (a friend of mine plays one of the potential e-dates)

Gone Baby Gone - That was damn good. Not exactly "fun" viewing given the tough subject matter, but yeah, great stuff. I haven't kept up with the film world in the last decade or so, and thus my image of Ben Affleck is still the meathead from Gigli. Turns out the man has some real talent behind the camera. Can't really say much else without spoilers, it's one of those films where pulling one thread leads to a lot of unexpected tangles.
I'm not sure if that metaphor made sense, but whatever.

Oh I am envious, I wish I could relive them for the first time again. The Dark Knight, in particular — I saw it half a dozen times in theatres.

Like I said, I don’t know how, considering I’ve seen pretty much every other DC and Marvel superhero film out there. The Dark Knight is on the schedule for tomorrow, so I am very excited!

Firefox, Clint Eastwood as Mitchell Gant Mitchell a veteran American pilot who becomes involved in a top-secret mission to steal a high-tech Russian fighter plane known as "Firefox."
Great movie, different role for Clint but he pulls it off & the action scenes while looking a little dated in places are still entertaining.
What is hilarious is half of Russia are played by Brits.

Pan's Labyrinth
I've been wanting to see this one for a while. What an amazing film, but so, so very sad. The fear of the unknown in the Labyrinth is nothing compared to the horror of the real world. The young girl who plays Ofelia was phenomenal.

Honey Boy - An interesting film & one that I'd happily recommend if people fancied something a little 'darker' from Shia LeBeouf.
Five Feet Apart - Nope. Not welling up at a teen romcom. Norsiree. You must have me mistaken for someone else...

The AFI rules say that a piece of filmed media is a movie if it is 40 minutes or longer so I'm gonna stretch this definition to say that I've been watching lectures for class.

Banana Split - Definitely a fun lunchtime watch. 'Nice to see Hannah Marks in something again... (Looking at Wikipedia, it turns out that she's actually six days older than me! Huh...)
Won't You Be My Neighbour? - An interesting documentary on an interesting man
The Intruder (1962) - A thought-provoking Roger Corman film (a sentence I never thought I'd type!). 'Bit tough in places, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again somewhere down the line...
The Seven - What can I say about this film? (No, really!) Well, at least it's "only" 79minutes!

Doomed! The Untold Story Of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four - The perfect (albeit bittersweet) start to the day...
The Fantastic Four (1994) - After the documentary, why not? I think it's been about 10yrs since I saw this last (when I was around 16) & whilst yes, it's not perfect, you can tell everyone loved being there.

Booksmart - Anyone care to tell me why it's taken me so long to get round to watching this?!
City Of Angels - A decent enough way to spend (almost) two hours. Probably not my favourite film of the year, but certainly not the worst! (I was due to see the matinee of the musical in London today, but, with Covid-19 going around...).
Military Wives - Like above, maybe not a favourite watch of the year, but it was a pleasant way to spend a Wednesday evening with one's mother...
