This evening I've watched the new 'Tom & Jerry' film. Whilst I'm not going to say that it's the greatest thing I've ever seen, it was an enjoyable enough way to start winding down for an evening...

As I had today off from work, I watched the first three 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' films. I adored the first one as ever and, whilst I will say that I did like the second and third ones, they could probably have benefited from a slight trim...

True Grit (2010) - I know this is an adaptation from a book but....I'm not really sure what the point was of doing another film version if you're not even going to try to do anything different from the last one? It's not that this is a badly put-together movie, it's actually quite well put-together. But I was bored to tears for the whole thing because scene after scene after scene was a case of 'I've already seen this!'
Little Dragon Maiden - I usually get a kick out of HK martial arts films, but I spent this whole movie wondering what the heck I was even watching. All over the map, just bizarre.

Vanishing Point - I love that white Challenger and all the wild driving it does. And I also love all the strange characters we meet on our journey. This movie and Two-Lane Blacktop are the absolute kings of the car movie.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Finally got around to watching Edge Of Tomorrow. For all his personal “quirks”, I don’t mind Tom Cruise. He works well with Emily Blunt here and the time loop is done fantastically well, also. The plot itself is a bit ridiculous and I would have liked to have known more about the Mimics and their plot but you can’t have everything.

Who Done It? The final Ealing comedy & not a very good one, a throwback to the 1930s style. Uncredited role from Doctor Who actor Glyn Houston.

The Terror of the Tongs. Another Hammer film & very similar to The Stranglers of Bombay but set in early 20th century Hong Kong & featuring Christopher Lee as leader of the Tong, also a small role for Roger Delgado who was in The Stranglers of Bombay.
