Hey everyone, It's that episode. The episode which was. It never fades. It came and went, a melchaony tinge on the experience that was (or still is). It was there, you faced it, you could not escape it. You endured it. Inexplicable and present. It simply was

Supernatural, season 9 episode Bloodlines. Meant to launch a spin-off, because those are popular nowadays, but it failed to engage most of the viewers and stands as an oddity during an uneven stretch of season prone to filler (the hell-atuses around that time didn't help).

Love & Monsters for me. You know an episode's bad when it hints at a character having sex with a paving slab.

Buffy - Beer Bad. nuff said ....and I'd forgotten. WHAT HAVE I DONE? That said, it does have Willow's epic takedown of Parker.

Love and Monsters, after a stiff competition with Fear Her. The whole thing was cringe-worthy, from start to finish.
But because I enjoy a good bit of juvenile humor, the bit with the slab at the end elicited a chuckle.

(Side note, I have been watching through the series and while season 4 has great episodes it as has the most worst episode count in any season.)

Nu Who: Love and Monsters.
Camille Coduri gave a tour-de-force performance as Jackie Tyler in this episode. If you watch only the bits she's in (fast-forwarding through the rest), then it's a terrific bit of story. But the rest is so unbelievably bad everyone forgets about her awesomeness.
Classic Who: Timelash
It narrowly surpasses Time-Flight and Warriors of the Deep. . . or whatever the opposite of "surpass" would be in this case.

For Doctor Who the episode I like the least is In the Forest of the Night. It's too CBBC for me, and would have been better on The Sarah Jane Adventures. Who wouldn't want to see Rani's parents reacting to the trees?

The Doctor Who episode I personally disliked the most... From NuWho, it's unfortunately The End of Time. Controversial, I know, and to be fair, there are a few things I like about it, like with most not-so-good episodes. But, to me, it was a disservice to the characters of the Tenth Doctor and the Master, with a regeneration that alienated a significant portion of fans away from the rest of the show. Other episodes may be worse in terms of quality and acting, but this was the story that irritated me the most.
From Classic Who, I'd probably say Time-Flight. I remember just staring at my screen just wondering what on earth I was watching. Warriors of the Deep was pretty dire too, come to think of it.

I remember just staring at my screen just wondering what on earth I was watching. Warriors of the Deep was pretty dire too, come to think of it. I could never get into The End of Time, it felt a little too much like Logopolis in that it was missing the point somewhat. It's definitely not the worst of the series, but it's not entertaining either... The one that was the worst to my mind is The Time of the Doctor, which feels in many ways like a rehash of Parting of the Ways and all that particular era's failings on overdrive. It was bits and pieces cobbled together after The Day of the Doctor. Time-Flight for me too, with some very stiff competition from Time and the Rani and maybe Underworld. It's just so damn dull. Timelash at least has an interesting story buried beneath that is trying to get out. I tend to have a much better opinion of Warriors of the Deep because of the Target novelisation Terrance Dicks wrote that fleshed out some of the characters and threw away the "poor man's Space: 1999" production values.

In terms of NuWho, it has to be A Christmas Carol. In a long line of extremely melancholy (or should I say downright miserable) Christmas specials, it stands out as the one which truly cast a 'downer' on Christmas, and the endless over-sentimental warbling provided throughout by Katherine Jenkins did not help.
Seeing Rory in his Roman centurion's outfit was quite nice though...
Chriss C.
EDIT: Just had a thought, how about Qpid from Star Trek: The Next Generation? Captain Picard's holiday romance comes back to haunt him as he and his entire command crew get turned into Robin Hood and his Merry Men. I've still never gotten through that episode - it makes me squirm with sympathetic embarrassment!

I find this somewhat of a surprise. I didn't know there was anyone who didn't enjoy A Christmas Carol. In my view, it's not only the show's best Christmas Special so far but also among Steven Moffat's all-time greatest episodes.

Really struggled to get through it on broadcast and haven't watched it since

The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe is the weakest of the Christmas specials for me. I haven't seen it since it first aired.

The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe is the weakest of the Christmas specials for me. I haven't seen it since it first aired. I managed to enjoy the beginning of it in an Amicus films kind of way, it was only when the plot reared its ugly head and we got to the forest that I completely lost interest. In contrast, The Snowmen managed a fairly solid premise, staying away from the "look at me" temporal mechanics, good characterisation and a strong villain. It was the episode that on first viewing made me snap my fingers and go -- "Yup, I can totally accept Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor." It felt like a genuine Who episode rather than a parody of one.
