I finished this one yesterday. Good one. Although I thought {Spoiler}it was a bit of laziness to not explain how Toby was able to fake his body being found.
Theme tune - not surprised they did something like this, updating it for the pop/rock sound of the era. One issue I have overall of the melody of the theme, it's a lot like The Prisoner.
So does 1973/4 still pre-date the existence of UNIT, given the strange UNIT dating inconsistencies? If not, then some mention of UNIT needs to be made.

A great restart for the series. I'm looking forward to the first new boxed set. I wonder if they will be working with the MI-5 person in the new series.

Listened to this yesterday, and like all Counter-Measures releases, I enjoyed it. But honestly there wasn't much (other than the unpleasantly bombastic title theme) that felt very 'new' here. Just felt like more of the same, really (which in itself is no bad thing, particularly). Also really didn't feel much different in terms of the era and the time that this story was set, outside of the news reports announcing it as such, either. And I doubt anyone listening couldn't see that twist coming from before it was even set up.
All that aside, as I said, I enjoyed it. It just wasn't quite the new direction or fresh take that I was under the impression (rightly or wrongly) that it was supposed to be. But as a transitional story, maybe that will become more pronounced with the next boxed set.

Trying not to read any spoilers, but is this as newbie friendly as they say it is and would I be able to listen to it without listening to the first 4 box sets. personally, I felt it was more a transition point to clear up loose ends and the next box set will be a better jumping-on point (Note: the first box set of the old series is a great jumping on point) Then again, If you've listened to the MR "1963:the Assassination Games" that covers the most important parts

Things should be a bit more pronounced in the next box.

Judge Fish you have the best avatar on the board and now back to your regularly scheduled discussion about something I've not listened to yet.

Well, this was a good story and a really good intro to the "new Counter-Measures". In spite of that jarring ending of Counter-Measures Series 4 {Spoiler}I knew they weren't all dead, even though producers, writers, and cast were saying so in the behind the scenes of Counter-Measures 4. And it wasn't because I looked ahead to see what the New Counter-Measures casts were listed as.
