When will humanity learn from the mistakes of its carpentry?!
I imagine that whoever hands out the UNIT callsigns (Greyhound, Windmill, etc.) would probably give Stewart's Brigade "Black Knight" for their "'Tis but a scratch!" approach.

More new stuff! More recurring Big Finish stuff - UNIT v Viyrans? UNIT v The Eleven (or Ten or Nine or Seven or Six etc etc)?
And yes I also like the idea of doing special edition UNIT box sets with different teams - it's rather like the Torchwood One boxsets.
Maybe they could do one with four different teams tackling one threat, a la Worlds of Doctor Who? Like Brig-Benton-Yates for episode 1, Kate & co for episode 4. Episode 2 and 3 would involve some sort of combination of Klein, Bambera, the UNIT Dominion cast, the Helliax/Cybermen/Warlock team, Emily Chaudry, some of the New Who team, Ruth Matheson, Charlie Sato... It would be good as an anniversary release - and it is fifty years of UNIT this year!

Another callsign idea that popped into my head overnight was for UNIT's counterintelligence division, "Mongoose". Those who you send in to ferret out the snakes.

For an organization that appears in a show about a time traveler, UNIT has rarely faced a temporal threat. Day of the Daleks, The Time Monster, and The Dinosaur Invasion are the biggies, with a little in The Time Warrior (mostly just the Doctor and Sarah with a little UNIT intro).
I'd like to see a UNIT story make use of some cross-temporal interaction. It could allow Kate and her father to interact across time, or allow Jo or Bambera from the past to participate in some way.

The news piece definitely confirms that following UNIT stories will have two Osgoods.
"“UNIT may have taken a temporary leave of absence from the current TV Whoniverse, but rest assured, there are still plenty more stories to tell as our audio UNIT chronology moves into the era of the Twelfth Doctor, with two Osgoods to defend the Earth against an ever-increasing array of enemies. I’m passing the military baton to the eminently well-qualified Andrew Smith, who will carry UNIT’s remit forward splendidly, I’m sure.”"

I’m looking forward to them moving into new territory and it’s not a surprise, as The Eighth of March was a hint to it. I hope they’ll delve into the past at some point, as there’s a missed opportunity to do a set that’s pretty much directly after The Day of the Doctor dealing with the Zygon peace treaty. Plus the chance to know what the rest of the team were up to whilst three Doctors ran around the Tower of London!

I can't say I'm thrilled at this news/confirmation of two Osgoods in (presumably) all future UNIT stories. Osgood is my favourite New UNIT character but I was never keen on the 'Zygon Inversion' story idea to begin with and in practice the presence of Human+Zygon in every story is such a big idea I think it will be a nuisance in plot terms - for starters, having to keep emphasing there IS a difference between them without ever letting highly intelligent trained professional observer Kate be able to spot the difference.
That was OKish for one story in 'The Eighth of March' set where identity was key to the plot but I would quickly tire of it being key to every plot. And every story using/finding a reason not to use Zygosgood's ability. Oh goodness, it could be shape-changy-whatshername from 'Space 1999' - pardon my language - all over again
How long before writers have to find a way to remove one or other Osgood from a story to avoid gumming up the works? Time for the delta-wave augmenter??
So I'm not thrilled. And neither am I.

Well, the two Osgood's wouldn't have happened until after The Day of the Doctor, and none of the sets have been post- TDotD yet (I think that's the majority view, anyway; I'm sure there's still some dispute). Series 9 could well include the Zygon peace treaty as it 'technically' takes place (on-screen) in the Twelfth Doctor's era, so any expansion on the idea is still 'Twelfth Doctor' territory. Personally, I'd be happy for that to be skipped over. What with The Zygon Invasion/ Inversion pretty much suggesting that the treaty has only ever worked in theory anyway, I'm not sure there's that much point going into the details of it.

I would imagine Series 9 onwards will be post-The Zygon Inversion, like The Eighth of March story is. That’s fine, I was just lamenting the missed opportunity of doing a story set directly after The Day of the Doctor. It’s not something I think would sustain four series or anything, but as a one-off then perhaps.

I’d like to see in future UNIT releases, what various Unbound versions of UNIT would be like. A universe where a less morally scrupulous UNIT has kept The Master in captivity since his Delgado incarnation and has experimented on him. A glimpse at a possible future where Osgood has succeeded Kate Stewart at the Head of UNIT and another where UNIT was never founded and we see what this universes Kate Stewart, The Brigadier and Osgood are like.

I am always way way behind on info are there further plans to continue Unit? There are. Andrew Smith is overseeing the range and it’ll be set in a different era for UNIT; most probably following the Zygon stuff based on the story in The Eighth of March. To be honest, the longer they leave it, the less interested I’m getting. More ranges are taking priority and they’ve not done a great deal eight sets in.

Actually really enjoy the Unit Sets must admit have not heard The Eighth Of March set at all ,so something for me to delve into when I get through relistening to all the stuff I already enjoy😂

Maybe a UNIT story dealing with the fallout from Time Lord Victorious? UNIT is involved in the Escape Room storyline after all.
