I think at this point I'd rather have stories that use these unmade storylines as starting points, and let the new writers use their own ideas to continue the story. There are some great concepts that never got made, but I doubt there's much material left to get a whole story from.
A First Doctor Early Adventure could be like The Red Fort, a historical set in India. Big Finish haven't done Gandhi yet, that could be an interesting story. The Doctor on the Salt March is a great image.

I'd like to hear an adaptation of "Doctor Who meets Scratchman," with different companions substituted for Sarah Jane and Harry. Have you read the script that's floating about the web? If it's that one then that is terrible. I've certainly found the 'Dark Dimension' script, but is "Scratchman" really available too? Should be later this year, if it's still the plan.

Well there was A script floating about a few years ago. Whether it was THE script is debatable. What wasn't debatable was how crap it was. Where it might be cached now? No idea, sorry.

I would dearly love the Lost Stories to come back, even just a boxset of two. The 4th Doctor's era was barely touched - but now with Tom and Lalla working together now hopefully Big Finish could revisit some of the Lost Stories from their era. From my understanding, from reading various websites and forums over the years, the following 4th Doctor stories had full scripts, that may still exist and in most cases the original writer is still with us who could write/advise on the stories - many of these stories have features written about them in DWM.
The Menday Fault By David Wiltshire (was written for Sarah, but even if it made production it probably would have been made with Leela given the script was submitted close to Elisabeth Sladen's departure.
The Doomsday Contract by John Lloyd
The Psychonauts By David Fisher
Tearing of the Veil by Alan Drury
The Mouth of Grath by Malcolm Edwards and Leroy Kettle
Enough for a couple more 4th Doctor Lost Stores Box Sets. Come on Big Finish I need more lost Tom!!!!

Come to think of it, I believe A.R. was implicated in the mid-90s Doctorless novels from Boxtree that also never happened. Boxtree, you will remember, were due to publish his "The (What Would Have Been The) Making of The Dark Dimension (If They'd Made It)", but didn't. Poor chap never seems to have any luck....

With Tim Treloar doing the 3DA's, I'd think that'd open the possibility of doing some 3rd Doctor lost stories.

Bumping this thread I started a couple of years ago(!), I've recently read on reddit/GB that the Lost Stories range may be returning (at least temporarily) apparently several 5th/6th Dr lost stories have been recorded recently? anyone know anymore?

The only piece of solid info is an update to Actress Tracy Wells's Spotlight page for The Nightmare Country which would match a rumour just before Xmas that the original writer of it was working with BF.

Not a clue, but it'd be fascinating to see who the restored candidates might be. There can't be that many long-legendary entries left for these incarnations, particularly in regards to full scripts... Maybe Steven Gallagher's Nightmare Country for Five? Christopher H. Bidmead's Pinacotheca for Six? Some more Barbara Clegg entries? An inherited story or two from an earlier incarnation? (Marc Platt's Fires of the Starmind, originally intended for Four, would be great with either.) There's a fairly comprehensive list of potential tales here.
I'm just spitballing wildly here, but ten years on from The Nightmare Fair... I dunno, maybe an adaptation of Bob Holmes's The Six Doctors could potentially be on the horizon for the anniversary? That could be rather fun and something that would've been much harder to do back then compared to now.

Nightmare Country has definitely been done - Stephen Gallagher posted a (now redacted) blog post about delivering the script to BF, and it is on one of the guest cast's CVs.
There have been mutterings that they may have sorted out the rights to The Ultimate Evil, but Nightmare Country is the only one we definitely know they are doing. It may be that the Fifth Doctor's 20th anniversary boxset is a Lost Stories set.

You can take on staff to the PI Business if you want, but you've always got the scoop! I think some BFers just check your posts to see what their work itinerary is.

One that I'm surprised never got made was The Hidden Planet. Is that one with rights issues, because I know that at least the basic outline is known and that seems to have been enough for the Brian Hayles lost stories.

Is that one with rights issues, because I know that at least the basic outline is known and that seems to have been enough for the Brian Hayles lost stories. Potentially, yeah, we've yet to hear any Malcolm Hulke stories despite things like Britain 408 AD. Another reason could be similar to why Genesis of the Cybermen likely hasn't been tackled yet: a lot of its core ideas have been used in other stories fairly close to home. In this case, the female-dominated species in Galaxy Four and Earth's twin in The Tenth Planet.
Nothing at the End of the Lane had a rather interesting article on something called The Living Planet, by Alan Wakeman, which essentially threw the four travellers into a viciously alien ecosystem. Flying metallic fish and edible hexagonal structures that seem to be a combination of animal and botanical. The mountains feast as the jungles roar, that sort of thing.
