I too felt as though there was something I was missing - some prequel or sequel that I haven't heard yet. Still, an enjoyable story, overall. Correct
{Spoiler} ST World Beyond the Trees provides some context

Ah. I haven't listened to that one yet.

Loved Damascus. Sort of acts as a prelude to more stories involving (Prime Minister) Jeremy Thorpe. And by the way, when does it exactly take place?

Loved Damascus. Sort of acts as a prelude to more stories involving (Prime Minister) Jeremy Thorpe. And by the way, when does it exactly take place? Is there more than one such story? There's a brief (unseen) 'appearance' at a Cabinet meeting during 'The Green Death', where he orders UNIT to assist Global Chemicals. He's just a voice and a hand on the phone receiver. But he didn't seem to care for UNIT's opinions at all and maybe 'Damascus' explains it.

Threw this one on for a quick re-listen and thought it was still fantastic. Treloar is an excellent reader and seeing The Doctor and UNIT from a different perspective is a fun way of doing the story. And because if how much I enjoyed this again, I've downloaded some of my favourite short trips to listen to again!
