Very glad to hear it is CF. Let's just hope it is not the last novel adaptation Amen to that. I wonder if they could do The Dying Days with only Bambera (in case Angela Bruce was willing to do audio for BF). Anyway, it's a pity they are finishing the novel adaptations, but I'm looking forward to CF There's been no word they are concluding the range that I have seen, just that there's no news about releases beyond Original Sin and Cold Fusion in December. It is entirely plausible that BF are focusing the New Series ranges or that the range is being put to the side to focus on other things for the foreseeable future. And about Dying Days, replacing a main character would be a change too far, might as well say it's a story based on The Dying Days, which defeats the point of adapting the book in the first place. It's like taking a novel with Mary Tamm's Romana and rewriting the part for Lalla Ward's Romana.

If they visit the Black Archive, it would explain why the Doctor and Kate don't remember meeting.

The reaction of all three Doctors in "Day of the Doctor" suggests otherwise.

He probably fights it off but if he realised he wasn't supposed to know who Kate Lethbridge-Stewart is yet, he would likely allow it to wipe his mind in order to preserve the timeline.

Alternatively, Beverly Cressman could play Kate - that would explain why the Doctor didn't remember meeting her when he encountered the Redgrave version!

Provided a replacement fulfils the same plot function and doesn't require rewriting the story, I think it's fair enough.
Paradise 5 was originally written for Mel but adapted by BF with Peri. Likewise Lethbridge-Stewart was replaced by Colonel Somebody in Android Invasion and Major Somebody-Else in Seeds of Doom with no real problems arising, so I personally don't see this as a major problem. If, in a parallel universe, Dying Days had been written for TV and Nicholas Courtney was unavailable at the last minute, there would have been a quick rewrite and a substitute character.

I think there's a difference though between setting out to do something and having to change your plans and setting out to make a product you're having to compromise on before you even start work.

Well they have repeatedly said they have no plans for any more, which isn't quite the same as saying they're stopping, but at least implies a significant gap before we get any more.

Good heavens, that's flashy! With Order of the Daleks, The Fifth Traveller, The Ravelli Conspiracy, I think these covers are only getting better and better.

I have to wonder which the music we'll be, classic five? Classic seven? Damaged Goods seven? As its a missing adventure, it should be the fifth Doctor's theme but I like the Damaged Good theme.

The book was a Fifth Doctor story featuring the Seventh Doctor unlike how multi-Doctor stories traditionally use the music of the most senior Doctor. It follows the Fifth Doctor and his companions more than it does the Seventh Doctor and his, so I'm presuming it'll be the Fifth Doctor theme.

Maybe it'll be a fifth Doctorified version of the McCoy theme
