Just the one today - finishing off the small Bafflegab backlog with a first run through The Scarifyers - The Curse of the Black Comet.
Seriously been looking forward to this one. Nick Courtney, Terry Molloy and the very loud force of nature that is Brian Blessed...😊

Nick Courtney, Terry Molloy and the very loud force of nature that is Brian Blessed...😊 My favourite of the whole series. And it's a fabulous series! Oh my goodness..I do not think I have burst out laughing as much I did listening to this tonight. Another glorious escapade with Lionheart and Dunning. So much to take in. Some near the knuckle lines that are so near they are practically down to the bone (with out a doubt Brian Blessed got the best lines and did he know it!), Basil's eccentricity and his joyful rendition of his old school song...🤣, lovely nods to Star Wars and Raiders Of The Lost Ark among others, a nurse who wouldn't have been out of place in a Carry On film, the plague, the 'Submaureen' and the 'Black Comet'..🤣. And of course 'Handy'.... Overall an enormous sense of fun packed into under two hours. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. 😊

Passenger 23 - a psychological thriller courtesy of Audible.
To say the subject of this one is dark is a bit of an understatement. It is extremely dark and in parts very disturbing.

Taking a break from BF, but not straying very far, as I commute this week
Will hopefully manage to fit all 6 discs of Nick Briggs' reading of the Day of the Doctor novelisation into 5 day's commuting.
Very good so far

The Horror at Red Hook, courtesy of Dark Adventure Radio Theatre. A fine production that takes one of Lovecraft's more xenophobic stories and accentuates the cosmic horror while not overtly wallowing in the racism of the author.

After a slow start I'm sinking into the delightfully quirky first book in The Chronicles of St Mary's series - Just One Damned Thing After Another.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Primary Phase. I must say, though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal - or at least wildly inaccurate - it’s certainly one of the best radio dramas ever made.

finished graphic audio's thanos death sentence a mixed bag a couple voices really sent my teeth on edge so i wasnt happy with those parts
but i had the same feeling when i listened to rocket and groot. i really like the marvel out of space setting. i wanted more of that more kree more novas
i would love a series of novels about the kree skrull war with no earth characters just a big old space opera with marvel cosmic races

Moved on from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Secondary Phase and started on the Tertiary Phase. I loved the soundtrack of the Secondary Phase - I really wish the Tertiary Phase had stuck with something similar!
I’m not quite halfway through the Tertiary Phase at the moment, but I have to admit I was very surprised when I found out this was made in 2003 - the only person who sounds any different here is Stephen Moore and Mark Wing-Davey and the latter just the SLIGHTEST bit. William Franklyn does a great job as The Book, but I admit it’s a little bit of an adjustment.
