The River boxset arrived this morning. Happy to say cast pics and liner notes are included in this range's booklets. Good to hear! I appreciate liner notes as it makes the physical product seem more worthwhile.

I don't just want 8, 10 and 11 appearing in Diary of River Song box sets, I'd like to see a variety of Doctors turn up. 4,5,6 and 7 make appearances too. No doubt BF have already given this a lot of thought and probably have a good story reason why River can interact with many Doctors. I'm all for it given the nature of the character. She's one of a few characters that can conceivably stretch across any era of Who. I agree with previous posters in that I very much want to see River's stories stand on their own so I think there should be plenty of them that are completely Doctorless. However, sprinkling in various incarnations of the Doctor in fun and unexpected ways could be a unique element of the River series. I'm not sure if I would buy the idea that the Doctor has met her before and simply doesn't remember. River definitely makes an impression. The explanation would have to do a bit more than just say he forgot over the course of the centuries, especially if she does wind up interacting with the Doctor over many different regeneration's. Also hoping she'll have some adventures with mom and dad and I would really really love it if she had an adventure with Rory's father. That's comedy gold. That's amazing.
Imagine a River and Brian boxset.

I hope not. I'd like River to find her own feet as a range. It would rankle a bit if The Doctor overshadowed her. I can see that. Of all the current series characters getting a range, this is the one I'm most curious about. River Song is a character where, for me at least, a little goes a long way. I don't know if that is in the character's DNA or if it is a product of the way Steven Moffat tends to write his strong female characters. I suppose the question I keep asking is in a universe where we have Benny running around, do we really need River Song? But then I ask the same question about Counter Measures, UNIT and Torchwood. Well glad to say the Universe and all of time and space is a big place and I can accommodate it mentally unlike Jago and Litefootand The Paternoster gang that was just too close and too much to believe in unfortunately

Well LJWILSON started me on a relisten So enjoyed Boundless Sea and then followed on with Marvellous party and I can say it’s the first time I didn’t automatically go OH DORIAn when Alex played Bertie he was actually Bertie. The good thing is when people who don’t know the DORIAN range listen they will enjoy these first two stories unconnected with The Doctors .She doesn’t need them and these two stories confirm that individual unconnected to the Doctors stories do work with River.I do Remember McGann plays a role in the next ones and I can rememebr roughly the plots. But hey more River, more parties, more tombs, more archeology .

I went to a Marvellous Party was much better. 7 out of 10. I only have the final episode to listen to tonight but Signs was great too this is a GOOd set of stories. I think as an introductory set of stories it’s excellent and I did enjoy it a few times now

Set 3 is my most listened to, f6ollowed by The Tom Baker ones I have to say My Dinner with Andrew remains the favourite of all of them as it’s just so much fun and timely shenanigans that it puts. Smile on my face. But truly don’t think there is a bad box set of stories and am happy to recommend the range to friends

I went to a Marvellous Party was much better. 7 out of 10. So am interested Lj(can i call you that) what did you think of the set? Am listening to the final episode with McGann but think its a pretty solid set. The Whole scene with those wanting to profit from the TIme War is grotesque to me as a human being but is so right for the set and I find River is served far better on audio than the TV show where she was created.
