I definitely recommend Assassination Games if you haven't got it. You don't need any knowledge of Counter-Measures and in terms of the timeline it's set between Remembrance of the Daleks and Counter-Measures Series 1. Series 1 is a bit uneven since it's the first one and there wasn't a pilot like Jago & Litefoot had or a prior audio appearance for the characters like Graceless and Vienna. Series 2 is great as is Series 3. Series 4 is definitely better having heard at least Series 3, and brings back characters from the other two Series.

I can second that. It's a marvellous tour de force by our ever-reliable John Dorney that could slot right into Season 26, avoiding all the traditional pitfalls of a sequel and giving us a terrific Ipcress File-style thriller. A must for anyone even remotely interested in the Counter-Measures crew.

This is one of the best ranges BF produce (imho) and I highly recommend giving series 1 a go, and then 2 ... and then 3 ... not many left now ...
Cheers

Yay I really hoped the new release would be followed by exactly this sale. I got series 1 and 2 few months ago on Audible and can now get completely caught up. This series is amazing, really impressed by how authentically sixties it feels.

I wasn't thinking there could be a sale so soon and ended up borrowing from my wife for series 3 and 4 that I hadn't bought yet. Great bargains, most of it looks all the way down to half price. Haven't heard much yet but what I have heard has made a good impression. Agreed about the authenticity, the music for example was very 60s - but in a good way. :-) Thanks, Big Finish!

Well, I was going to get pre-orders like a good BF costumer, but whatever, I'm now the proud owner of every Counter-Measures release.

I considered getting series 1 but I don't think I can afford to get sucked into another series right now.

Counter Measures is superb. Sir Toby is one of my favourite characters in the Who universe.

I think my ideal Doctor Who audio from Big Finish would star Leela, Henry Gordon Jago and Sir Toby Kinsella talking to each other - with Avon guest-starring.
