What is some major time or place that the TARDIS should visit and hasn't yet?
The Tsavo man eaters of Victorian Africa? The building of the Eiffel Tower? The execution of the Romanovs, and maybe having Anastasia as a companion?

The signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. There's a great First Doctor pure historical that could be written for that.

The signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. There's a great First Doctor pure historical that could be written for that. And I would instantly buy it regardless of cost. There are about two or three theoretical releases that you can say that about. This is one of them. It's funny how the Doctor can go anywhere, any time on Earth but almost always seems to hit Victorian London or 21st century Britain. Why can't he come to New Zealand for once?

TARDIS Wiki says that he came here once with Sarah Jane in a short story to pick up... some Christmas food. Not to visit anyone or witness any of... y'know, anything we've got, not to pick up some hāngi or anything like that, or to see the All Blacks, or climb a mountain, or go swimming. Nope. NZ's place on the Whoniverse is limited to a handful of mentions of it, characters from here... and christmas shopping. Rant over. The Tenth Doctor mentions New Zealand in Voyage of the Damned, saying it's nicer than a London street (he's surprised that Astrid finds the latter amazing). Scream of the Shalka has a few scenes set in NZ, although not with the Doctor. The characters in those scenes were named after Doctor Who fans he met while on holiday there, one of whom I've met.

There's probably more too. Writer David Bishop (Enemy of the Daleks) is from New Zealand. He hasn't written any BF I'm aware of for a while though.

All of these sound pretty interesting so far. Have we had a story for the Mutiny on the Bounty yet or the defection of the Cambridge Five? The Disorder of the Eight Princes seems very promising if we're looking for a little more Chinese history.

Wouldn't mind a Cold war esque spy thriller historical, that could be an interesting change of pace.

I suppose that they could do ... I'm hoping this was an attempt to lighten the shock of recent events but if not, it's highly insensitive and I think you might want to consider removing the post! (speaking both as a forum member and as a mod).

I suppose that they could do ... I echo AccousticWolfs comments, right now I'm not sure this has broken any rule, which is why I'm posting as a member of the forum and not as Admin, but I urge you to remove this post.

If we hadn't already had a number in ancient Rome, I'd say: Alexandria, as Octavian arrives to crush Antony.
Since Marco Polo is lost, perhaps some alternate story in 13th century asia or thereabouts?

I have deleted the post after canvassing the opinions of several other mods Sorry, about that. At the time, I didn't know about the event. It was only about an hour after, I'd found out and had forgotten posting by that point. I'm really sorry, if this has caused any offence.

Since Marco Polo is lost, perhaps some alternate story in 13th century asia or thereabouts? How about a trip to the collapse of Byzantium or maybe an exploration of the Chola dynasty in India? Ooh, actually... How about a story centred around the disappearance of the Spanish Ninth Legion or an I, Claudius style tale with the First Doctor encountering Romulus and Remus?

Would love a sort of 2 story arc with William wallace in the first story and Robert the Bruce in the 2nd with King Edward 1/2 was played by 2 different masters. I did kind of have an idea for a short trip but I thought half an hour was just not long enough to cover it

Do you want BF to do Gettysburg, or the tv? And do you want the pre-battle, the battle, or the President's after visit?
Cause it could be an epic story from BF, but I don't think tv could do it anywhere near justice.

"Part One" is the pre-battle, "Part Two" and "Three" are the battle itself and "Part Four" is the visit afterward.

When it fell to the Spartans? When it fell to the Athenians? When it fell to the Romans? Or when it, and the final vestiges of the Eastern Roman Empire, fell to the Ottomans? Or when the Ottoman's fell and it became Istanbul, Turkey?
