At the time though, it was an ending - not a cliff-hanger.

I didn't think they should have... but then season four turned out to be my favourite.

I enjoyed season 4 quite a lot, as well.

But...but...Panacea ends on a cliff hanger! How could you not want to listen to more? I did! Honestly I did, but I wasn't particularly enamoured with the way things went after it. Maybe it was just a bad time and I wasn't in the mood for it, but nice ideas aside I listened to Reborn and just couldn't get into it. After Brax's little bit at the beginning I kind of just zoned out. Maybe I need to go back and revisit it again, I'll bug one of my friends for a CD copy to listen to...

Oh, man, I love Brax. Maybe you should give it a second chance.

The fourth season turned me off to the entire series because most of it seemed like pointless continuity checklist theater. I was also annoyed about getting fooled by the trailer (i.e, the notable guest cast were *not* playing who you'd expect them to be).
But it's been a few years and I decided to give it another chance. I'm not particularly in love with it, but I'm wondering if it's worth pushing through to getting to the newer stuff.

I recently started listening to these, and I think my favorite moment came when K-9 announced "Scanning for audio" and I recognized the clip from the Tin Dog Podcast I'm only a few stories in, but it's fun. like the more nuanced version of Time Lord society. The Time Lords are little more than moustache-twirling cut outs in the new television series, but that portrayal certainly grew from the seeds that had been planted even in the original series. (Deadly Assassin is probably the only Gallifrey-based episode I'd call a classic) On the Gallifrey audios, Time Lords occasionally have some traits other than vindictive and dumb. Further, I like that the opposition isn't evil for the lulz, but rather (at least as far as I've listened) more or less well-intentioned individuals with different ideas for how society should be run.

Yup, I noticed that "scanning for audio" thing, too. I'll be embarking on a grand Gallifrey re-listen soon, since I completed my Gallifrey collection in the recent sale. I love love love this series.

I came late to Big Finish. I only learned about them after I finished listening to the audiobook recording of Shada in 2012. I just checked my account on the site, which tells me that I have purchased 131 stories, which along with the few CDs I've picked up elsewhere is surely respectable, but is no doubt dwarfed by the collection of people who have been fans since the beginning.
I haven't heard more than a fraction of what Big Finish has produced. But I can say, with absolute certainty, the coolest thing they have ever recorded was in the Gallifrey series, with Lalla Ward as Romana explaining natural selection to Leela and slyly referencing Richard Dawkins' "The Blind Watchmaker". "The jewelry maker is blind!" Holy Cow, that was clever!

I got series 1 in a Gallifrey sale a couple years ago. I accumulated the series 2 CDs by selecting them as my free gift with a main range sub. The rest I accumulated in a few different purchases when they went on sale. Little by litte, not all at once.

I may pick up another season at a con Honestly I held off so long because I was hoping they would get the digital license (it's a lot of CDs to find space for) but now that I did start buying them on CD watch they will get that license ha ha.

The Gallifrey CDs are nothing compared with my 11 seasons worth of Benny CDs. I have no place to store them either. They're in boxes under my computer desk.

So...what are the chances of a crossover into the 8th Doctor or War Doctor ranges in the build up to the time war?
