Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters.
First animated Godzilla from Toho, and supposed to be the first in a trilogy, with the 2nd part due out 18 May.
Meh. Lots of backstory crammed into the first 10 minutes followed by not much story.

First couple episodes of the new Steins;Gate 0 dub. Time travel and the human consequences thereof (where Time bites back). It's a sequel series that takes place between the fifth and fourth-to-last episodes of the original series in one of the key divergent worldlines. It's like meeting an old friend in a crowded street. Seven years since the original and it feels as though no time's passed at all. I'm really enjoying it. For any fans of the series here, I highly recommend picking this one up (you can find it on Crunchyroll).

ive been watching Overlord on crunchy roll. i was looking into maybe getting into light novels and kept seeing this series come up. it looked dark and at first i thought oh no i hope this isnt another overfiend. but its one
of those player gets stuck in mmorpg stories with a couple of twists. the main character's game of choice is shutting down, he stays logged up into the very minute they turn the servers off. but instead of being kicked out of
the game, he wakes up in the body of his character. his character just happens to be a max lever magic user arch lich. so not your typical hero. the other twist is he doesnt wake up in the game world of his favorite game. he
is a completely unknown world. what he does have is his "guild hall" which is a complete maxed out super palace and the npcs who were part of that GH, who basically love and worship him. what hooked me is he has to
pretend to be his character and not the middle aged salaryman he is. and he has to figure out what happened to him and where he is? and if its happened to anyone else? so its his strategies for accomplishing these things
that keep my interest. it has a lot of tropes from rpgs and DnD. but it does have some sins. first the main character is OP he is max level every item he has is max. he has like relic level everything. the npcs that are
his minions are super demons and vampires. his maids could kick the crap out of most everything. another thing that is annoying everything he does the other character just think is amazing. and not just his minions just
about every character is amazed by just about everything he does. the episodes seem short but since they are online you can power thru them. the art is good. the way they do magic and its effects are good.
im up to season 2 and we get a lizard people romance sub plot. i cant say ive seen one of those before. the thing that keeps me coming back is the strategies and tactics he uses. the stratergies he uses to pretend he is
his character and keep his npcs loyal to him. the tactics he uses to explore the world and what if any dangers it poses for himself and his npc/minions. as the show goes on more and more of the world and its politics are
showing up at his door. so he has to spin more plates and adjust and use new tactics.

i've been watching a bunch of anime lately
goblin slayer season 1 very good and the first season has a nice ark the season finally was a good end
overlord im in the middle of season 2 not bad thought ainz is really op
that time i got reincarnated as a slime im still in season 1 fun wacky anime though the fights are not very satisfying
the rising of the shield hero probably my favorite season 1 is still being aired so you'll have to wait on new episodes
its pretty violent the sound effects during the fights really unsettling but over all its quite good
i tried black clover buts it just naruto with a louder protagonist
you can try all the first episodes without commercials on crunchyroll
i tried assassination classroom if you like wacky stuff you might like this one
i watched the live action mob psycho 100on netflix i liked it quite a bit except the final episode just sucked it was like they ran out of time and money and just thru
something anything together

I'll be picking up the new DVD set of the original Kino's Journey when it comes out in May. Real curious about this one. Well 4 years later I can confirm... this never happened. Indeed, not long after that post, I sort of fall back out again. Weird because there's a bunch of stuff I do want to watch (Great Pretender, Appare Ranman, Promised Neverland, original Fullmetal) but just time never lined up.
Funnily, right before the pandemic started, I wrapped up Last Exile. Pretty good.
