Next month: The Harvest or The Conspiracy? I'm going with Torchwood on this one. The Harvest because I love Hex and his return should be celebrated. Just my 2 cents. And also the Lives of Captain Jack is Doctor Who related not Torchwood But there is quite a lot coming out in June so it could be anything . Edit: On another note I also bought this month's Listener title. It was one I meant to buy for some time so now seemed like as good a time as any. I will listen to it the same time I listen to the new Unit box set.

Finally! A Listener's selection I don't already own. Also, I think Kenny Smith has given up on this thread. Ha! Fooled you! Still here!

Any thoughts on The Council of War? Where's mark687 when you need him eh? Well I enjoyed it and not only because Sgt. Benton is part of the essential Doctor Who I grew up with. It's a fun story with Benton as an English town hall 'Bond', the alien menace(s) seem there to provide a framework for an entertaining satire on 60s/70s culture and a Third Doctor romp where Benton is the hero - at least until 'my' Doctor shows up (at his most flamboyant) and saves the day again. Don't expect serious science fiction and it's very enjoyable. John Levene and guest star Sinead Keenan share the narration and characters more or less evenly between them (quite right too in this story where feminism is an important theme!) and although I can't say I ever thought the Third Doctor sounded like that, the spirit of the era is alive and well - and John Levene sounds just as he did on TV; the years fell away as I listened. Great job, Sgt. Benton!

More 7th Doc, Ace and Hex shorts gives a very good general flavour of the team and is relatively accessible.

Council of War is a great story. A bargain at this discount! You'd be insane not to get it if you haven't already.

More important than the actual announcement of Conspiracy as listeners title, is the suggestion that they're looking for feedback on the listeners and are contemplating making changes to the format.

July, August and September are now chosen. Any guesses? Perhaps Warship in July to celebrate the triumphant return of Blake's 7?

July, August and September are now chosen. Any guesses? I am always game for a guessing game! July The Big release (at least to my mind) is Classic Doctor : New Monsters. But how could you link into that? Well Big Finish have introduced newer Doctor's foes to older Doctors long before the New Series licence. THE SELACHIAN GAMBIT (having first appeared on audio opposite the Seventh Doctor in The Architects of History) August Hamlet with Alexander Vlahos must be worthy of promotion, so how about THE DARKEST SHADOW with Alexander Vlahos (If the new Dark Shadows release - Love Lives On had been scheduled for release a month later I would consider this a certainty) September It's more New Adventures with Benny and David Warner So how about an old adventure with Benny and David Warner THE ADVENTURE OF THE DIOGENES DAMSEL Well those are my guesses. Now only time will tell...
