Big Finish Website News
So no more, I am rather dejected. These have proven much entertainment, and I hope that there is something going forward to compliment the comic strip range, enjoyable as it is, I do like the re-creation. I suppose i's licence, copyright again. Never mind, we have the 6 volumes to re-listen too.

I'm not sure why it would be rights and copyright - the goal was to recreate the first series of episodes that had been (mostly) lost and that's now done. It was always a finite range, surely? Going beyond this point would be remaking the Cathy Gale era material that exists in it's entirety. I suppose there could easily be a new range of adventures set in series one, but that would be a new range rather than Lost Episodes.

I forget where I heard/read it but I'm sure its been said that no same group of parties own the rights to more than 1 TV season each so obtaining for the rights for new stories set within a period would be difficult, even if they just used Steed and Keel again.

I am very sad to see the end of this range, but as has been said, the Lost Stories was always finite. I would have snapped up - and would snap up - new stories featuring Steed and Keel in the same style as these boxsets. The chemistry between Julian Wadham, Anthony Howell and Lucy Briggs-Owen has been so strong, I now truly think of them as the original Avengers. Still, all good things come to an end. I am not a huge fan of the Diana stories, if I am hugely honest, but will miss the Lost Stories hugely. Alongside Dorian Grey, this is my most 'randomly relistened to' range.

Ok maybe what I was trying to get at, is that BF captured that era so well, it is shame that we cannot having something albeit the comic strips, to fill that void? Perhaps a audio version of Secret Service, or similar. Just a thought

Perhaps Steed needs to make a cameo in The Prisoner?

Out of all the BF ranges, this has been my most eagerly awaited and enjoyed. But then again I love all things to do with The Avengers, including the Springbok Radio series.
It has been a blast, with my favourite being 'Please do not feed the animals'.

I always knew this would be a finite series in terms of 'Lost Stories' but I'm sad to read there will be no more with this team. I'd definitely have liked to hear some BF original Steed/Carol Wilson adventures...
Still, we've got the 26 series 1 episodes, which is more than I'd ever hoped for!

Lost Episodes could continue if BF could negotiate the rights to Firefly.

In the latest podcast, someone asked if there were plans for any more Avengers. 'Talks are afoot', says Nick, 'but ... you know'. That's a quote. He also stresses how BF would love to do more. So, me beauties, you never know ...
