Which I have not seen either!! Jack is in the second half of the 2005 season of Doctor Who (The Empty Child through to The Parting of the Ways). He reappears in the series 3 episode Utopia, which picks up from where the end of Torchwood series 1 ends and in the final series 3 episode, The Last of the Time Lords, returns to his team. He, Gwen and Ianto take part in the series 4 finale, The Stolen Earth and Journey's End, which takes place between series 2 and Children of Earth for Torchwood. Jack cameos in the DW episode The End of Time Part Two in what is between Children of Earth and Miracle Day for him. The reasons behind the formation of Torchwood are in the DW story Tooth and Claw, and the organisation is formally introduced in the DW series 2 finale Army of Ghosts and Doomsday. The main crossover from Doctor Who over to Torchwood in terms of guest stars is Martha Jones, who was the Doctor's companion in series 3 of Doctor Who. Her appearances in Torchwood take place after this. Fun fact, Martha's alias in Reset is the name of a companion in one of the Doctor Who novels. The events of Army of Ghosts and Doomsday provide some context for one segment of The Torchwood Archive, but I can't think of anything more apart from that.

So who thinks, upon reflection, that Outbreak might have something to do with the early Jack segment about the sickness that apparently has something to do with the Red Key and the Weevils? Combined with him yelling at Norton in the trailer, and I feel like Outbreak could possibly be our "The Committee Arc will be wrapped up by end of year" release instead of this one.

I've only listened to the first hour, so haven't read other posts, but I like this a lot. It's very much a celebration of Torchwood's success at Big Finish as much as it is for the television show's anniversary. Tying lots of vignette-like cameos could be an issue so the framing deivce has to be good and I like this one a lot. PC Andy seems to have gotten his wish to be a bit of a player in TW going forward!

My physical copy arrived and I'm not terribly satisfied with this packaging. Here's hoping that BF haven't quietly abandoned jewel cases.

If you look on The Geeks Handbag Twitter page' Adam has uploaded a couple of good photos of it... Ive not seen my copy yet as I'm travelling the globe but from the photos it looks good to me, but we all have our differences... The Geeks Handbag
Hope This Helps TommyP

Oh, it's perfectly fine, in and of itself, it's just, in my opinion, not as good as an actual jewel case, or, as they do with any other half-special occasion, one of their bookshelf cases. Like, Novel Adaptions, The Prisoner, Ten's first audio set, get bookshelf cases, but the big anniversary Torchwood special gets a slipcase? Without even an insert, let alone extras of any sort?

Just finished this today. When I was listening to it and hearing Jeremiah's story about traveling to the Torchwood Archive on his honeymoon I just couldn't believe that. And the bit about his wife flying the spacecraft naked really was ridiculous. So, hearing at the end that this sob story about his wife was all made up was good news to me.
It basically did seem to wrap up The Committee storyline, though it left lots of room for more stories. We now know that Torchwood behind the scenes created The Committee. If anyone has a Committee timeline from the previous audios and this, it would be interesting to see it linearly. Same with the red key/locket/object one.
I have no idea just hiw Jeremiah and Norman think they can actually use the red key to their advantage. I missed how he learned that. Yes, they want to work with The Committee and get their money or something, but how do they avoid disaster?
All in all a pretty nice celebration.

This was a real whirlwind to listen to. I enjoyed it a great deal and felt that the stories were all linked together effectively. I really like The Committee story line and hope it will continue. It seems to me that the ending suggests that there's more to come, while still providing an ending to the first part of a longer story arc.
Delightful to hear so many characters in one release and have it actually work without feeling overstuffed. There were so many Easter eggs and references, too. I particularly enjoyed the side references to Doctor Who. I generally agree that The Doctor should not appear on Torchwood, but it's nice to feel like it's all still part of one universe.
The only complaint that I have is the packaging. I just don't care for the cardboard case. I like to have a nice looking physical collection and the cardboard cases are harder to keep in good shape when you have to pack up and move to a new house or want to take them for a listen in the car.

I have an irritating question for anyone who might wish to help me. Thing is, I'm not a massive Torchwood fan, but I have bought and loved 'Zone 10', 'Moving Target', 'Made You Look' and especially 'One Rule'. Or in other words, I've really enjoyed the self-contained stories involving the featured characters. Will I like 'The Torchwwod Archive', do we think? Or is it something you need to be well-versed in the history of the show to enjoy, as I suspect?

You'll like it fine but I'd recommended getting The Victorian Age, Ghost Mission, The Conspiracy, Forgotten Lives and maybe Uncanny Valley, in conjunction with ones you've got, hearing those first may give a better context of Archive's overall storyline.
