Genuinely sorry to add to the voices of discontent here, but this news has left me a little annoyed. If Nick Briggs is too busy, or has lost interest in this project, can't he allow some other writers to write for the second set, like was the case with 'Dark Eyes' and 'The War Doctor?' After such a blaze of BF publicity, expecting the audience to wait 18 months for a follow up to 'series 1' is a big ask. I suppose people have pre-ordered this (as I have), and so BF feel they can afford not to stick to the original release date. I dislike the Prisoner but there's no way Nick Briggs has lost interest in the project!
Most likely he wants to do a different Number 2 for every episode again and the actors he wants aren't available to record till early next year.
Regards

I think that is the most probable as with Nick's enthusiasm for the prisoner it would be written fairly quickly. But that is just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I'd be in the assuming Nick Briggs is just too busy camp. Nick lose interest in the Prisoner?!!! He was so gushingly enthusiastic about it before and after the first box set came out, I reckon it would take decades to wear that much Prisoner enthusiasm off!

I do think that with the frequency with which things like this occur, Big Finish need to review their preorder policy. People should only pay when the product is actually available. This isn't crowd funding.

The way they announced the Dark Shadows: Bloodline delay is a much better way to disappoint fans. - Note to BF, sugar-coat bad news ... don't just slap us in the face with it Cheers Tony

I disagree. I think it's more about being apologetic and giving the reason. The Prisoner delay announcement failed because it was not apologetic. Big Finish tried to pass it off as exciting and a Good Thing: a way to celebrate the anniversary.

I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with my post, but it still stands that the reasons for the DS delay (and parallel announcement of new titles) worked better . Cheers Tony

So...to celebrate the 50th anniversary Volume 2 is being pushed back 8 months?! (In fact, it will be released on the last business day of September, so 8 months is probably rounding down.) The last business day is always the listed release date. It's not the actual release date.
