I think that this is less a sign of imminent audio dramas and more a sign of eventual ones. The Tom Baker Eventual Return. Which is all I've wanted from Eccleston anyway. Just that he gives us another look in, whenever he so chooses. Even if we're waiting for a while. And hopefully if the eventual return does happen he'll do a Tom Baker and record several years worth of audios each recording slot... But the real-world reason for that is rather depressing, if inevitable.

I read somewhere that McGann's agent at the time initially turned down BF audios back in 2000 without even really asking him first, believing he wasn't interested in revisiting the role at that point and/or not thinking it was good career move, it was only a while later after McGann was asked about BF in a unrelated interview that he found out about the audios and asked his agent to start negotiations. Wasn't Janet Fielding still McGann's agent around that time?

It would be ironic if McGann's enjoyment doing the audios was a contributing factor to Fielding returning to the role.
