Very excited for this! I'm probably going to have to hold off on pre-ordering for a while, but this is a definitely must-have for me!

Is this going to be a full cast audio or is it going to be more like a companion chronicle? Well you were there weren't you Captain Jack. But it's definitely full cast. Look at the cast list! haha it must of been recorded during those years the time agency stole! Thanks for the clarification

Sounds great and all, but huh?since when have the daleks been humanities oldest enemy? 20 odd years ago "Original Sin" established that Daleks had replaced demons and Boogeymen as the threat that haunted humanity's collective nightmares.

AANNDD now I'm imagining Jack's lost years as being less "stolen by mysterious agencies" and more "2 year long bender with Wicked Aunty Iris and Panda (Art Critic)".

What if humanity's oldest enemy is itself?

This reminds me of the early days of BF, when they didn't have all the Doctors, and we saw stuff like Bernice Summerfield, Gallifrey, UNIT, the Sarah Jane spinoff, Dalek Empire, etc, and such popping up all over the place in an effort to make use of the actors and characters they had available to them. It's great to see that sort of energy and creativity popping up with the New Series releases. At this rate, it looks like Torchwood & Jack might be the New Series equivalent of Benny, a former companion who gets more regular releases than the "main" Doctor Who stuff, alongside the other less frequently releasing spinoffs and side stories. Good stuff. Good times. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later they'll get David Tennant back in the studio and announce 10th Doctor Adventures Volume 2 though.

I love that the New Series has a proper expanded universe all of a sudden. Like it's had novels and comics from the beginning, but there's a big difference for me between "some other stories with the various Doctors" and actually building on stories and time periods and characters. Between Big Finish and Titan Comics, it's an exciting time.

It's ironic that the Novels, which arguably we're not only the centrepoint of the EU but were where it all began, are right now pretty much non-existent, in the same way the audios were at the start of the Wilderness EU. I really hope there's a print renaissance coming in the EU - a wave to rival the early BBC days or the Virgin years. Partly 'cause I want to be a part of it.

I feel like once Capaldi leaves, writers will have a lot they want to do with 12's Doctor. Don't know why, he just feels like a new 7th Doctor for me in his Prose potential. Along with 8 and 9, 7 and 12 books just seem right. The others, while not not so, just feel more suited to other mediums. Moffat's Doctors so far tend to lend themselves more to other material than Russell T Davies' (or even some of the classic series Doctors). As well as 12, there's so much writers can do with the 11th Doctor in non-television material.

Sorta like the great Tombo only has a few "classic" Novels, most (some would say all) written by Gareth Roberts. I get what you mean. He is very visual. But I think the 11th Doctor has many layers which would make for interesting exploration in a story.
