@toaau What exactly is the "Reverse S7 Theory"?

IIRC, there was a fan theory at time of airing that we were getting S7 in reverse order, from The Doctor's perspective, or something like that.

@toaau What exactly is the "Reverse S7 Theory"? The Doctors stories with Amy and Rory in S7 were in reverse order; basically the Doctor lost them in Manhatten almost straight after Wedding of River Song, and then went back a little bit at a time because he couldn't bear to not see them or whatever. Then when he cried when they invited him in for dinner at the end of the Doctor, Widow, Wardrobe it was because he knew it'd be the last time he could see them without breaking the web of time or whatever Moffat said it was. OK, I'd have to re-watch in that order to see if it works. But why? Why would this work better than the season as aired?

I really hope there's a print renaissance coming in the EU - a wave to rival the early BBC days or the Virgin years. Partly 'cause I want to be a part of it. I feel like once Capaldi leaves, writers will have a lot they want to do with 12's Doctor. Don't know why, he just feels like a new 7th Doctor for me in his Prose potential. Along with 8 and 9, 7 and 12 books just seem right. The others, while not not so, just feel more suited to other mediums. I agree, but where the heck are all the Twelfth Doctor novels this year when there's no TV show? We could have had a couple trilogies with a new companion!

Remember when we used to get 6+ novels a year? Or even further back, 12+?!? I don't remember in the remembering sense as I came onboard during the Smith years but I have a very full bookshelf of Sylvester and Paul books that proves your point. I want another proper series asap.

Hearkening back to an earlier part of the conversation, I notice this has been removed from the Torchwood section of BF's site and is now housed under the Doctor Who area.

That's a bit odd. I would think it would fit in both places. Though maybe it's not a Torchwood story.

Very much Doctor Who rather than Torchwood, as it's grounded in the continuity of Jack's Who appearances...

So its not just specifically an emotional and motivational restorative after TW COE then it has Who impact and Who sensibilities?

A set that is more closely connected to Jack's time with The Doctor is what I was hoping for. Naturally, there can be a lot of crossover with his time at Torchwood, but there are a lot of elements of his life and personality that relate specifically to Who and I'm glad to hear that's the set's emphasis. With all the new Torchwood coming, we're getting the best of both worlds.

Now that this has this been revealed to be more Doctor Who than Torchwood should it be moved to the Worlds of Doctor Who thread?

I'm not a Torchwood follower (not having seen the TV series or listening the audios), the question is: This release in particular seems very interesting, I like Jack in DW , do you think it will contain too many Torchwood references? I want to buy it but I'm afraid of Torchwood continuity Don't worry. This is very much the Who version of Captain Jack. No overlaps with Torchwood - we have the Torchwood range for that. This is very much a celebration of his role in Doctor Who...

There is a trailer for this included on the Torchwood One: Before the Fall Release. Not sure if it's been released anywhere else yet?

I'm sure it has no bearing on the actual set, but I don't think that was a particularly good trailer. They all sound like impressionists to my ears!

To my ears, the trailer sounded a bit standard - slow, portentous dialogue on top of dramatic hero music - but I'm still looking forward to the stories.
Camille Coduri is the best thing in the trailer by a mile. She lit up the airwaves with every word.
Chriss C. (who'll have the omelette too).
