I think it affects one more - well, me, anyway - if you have heard the Dalek Empire stories in which Kalendorf played a part. But I love Dalek Empire, so there's that.

Early? Late? All? Kalendorf is in series 1 and 2. He may be mentioned in series 3 - it's been a while so I can't remember - but he doesn't appear in the story. The bundle prices for Dalek Empire are pretty inexpensive, as it's a pretty old series. I bought all 4 series at various times when BF had a sale on them. But if a DE 5 comes out, it will be an instant pre-order for me.

Do I need any background for Museum Peace, or can I jump straight in? Not needed, but Dalek Empire is fantastic, so I feel no collection is complete without it.

The Gift - A wonderful expansion of The Fifth Doctor era connecting past and present Doctor Who. What wonderful antedote for customers who bought Doctor Who: The Complete History.
Musuem Piece - THANK YOU SO MUCH BIG FINISH FOR RELEASING THIS! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D GET TO EXPERIENCE IT! Wonderful scenic piece on who The Doctor had to become in order to save the universe.
Another John Dorney classic. Iolas is another addition to The Doctor's memorable villians, a truly ugly pathetic little man with access too much power. Darkly comic and yet still very Doctor Who.
The Little Drummer Boy - Sorry, Big Finish. I love you guys....but this ranks amongst my least favourite releases. The Doctor condemening a little boy to pretend to be his brother? The Doctor is alien, but this is far too much of a stretch, particularly being a family man himself. And Sarah and Steven go ALONG WITH IT? I'm guessing the intent is Sarah working through the grief of the death of her brother, but someone give me a read on Steven. (In the dark, so alone, hello Hifi)

I'm guessing the intent is Sarah working through the grief of the death of her brother, but someone give me a read on Steven. (In the dark, so alone, hello Hifi) Oh, man, very similar to the thoughts I posted about this story when I re-listened to it. (Can't remember why it didn't make as much of an impression the first time around. Another subscriber short trip re-listen: The Little Drummer Boy. I'd forgotten that it's a sad story, at the end. {Spoiler}I mean, it's a cute premise. Replace the twin who's going to die of leukemia with the duplicate copy of the surviving brother. But how does that really work? Overlooking the problem of having a copy of the same person from a different point in his own time stream, you can fool the original Robert and the parents that the duplicate Robert is the brother who was dying of leukemia, but the replacement Robert knows he's pretending to be his brother. That's got to affect him at some point, if not now, than when he grows up. I have to admit I was thinking more about how it was going to affect the little boy then why Sarah and Steven were going along with it. And the thought of that boy going through all that was appalling to me. It's like someone thought of a premise for a story without thinking through all the consequences of where he was going with it.

The Switching and Waiting for Gadott are excellent.
Twilight's End is a nice little Coda to The Forge stories
Young Lions and Intuition are solid.

Waiting for Gadot is read by Hugh Ross iirc. The Switching is a fun one.

And not one bad story among them... The Short Trips are still my favorite range. Even the "bad" ones tend to be ambitious failures at worst. I really appreciate these Rarities, as someone who generally has to buy Big Finish through sales instead of subscribing (someday soon, I hope).

He also said there was a two year gap after initial release (as in when they were available to subscribers) before the individual subscriber Short Trips would be considered for the Rarities range

Still doesn't include the one I'm missing, which is Neptune. Guess I'll have to keep waiting.

Just realised I have some of these through my subscriptions. As they don't show up in the BF app, i tend to miss them. Will be nice if they can fix the app to include these as well.

They are in the app, they're sorted under "Doctor Who - Short Trips Rarities" I think he means the non rarities releases. They’re attached to the main range stories as bonus material so they don’t show up in the app.

Throwing to the wider thread, any recommendations to a neophyte? I think I've only ever heard Museum Peace and was pretty enamoured with it.
