Listened to the first part of Doom Coalition 1 last night and it is very good. It's great to have the Eighth Doctor back, and I can't wait until I get home from work and continue with my listening this evening.

I've finished listening to The Eleven and The Red Lady. But I couldn't understand the message at the end of The Red Lady. If anyone knows, just tell me in spoiler tags.

It seems to become clear in the next story. Which I am in the middle of.

Anyone know who Edward Collier is? An unknown writer with this sole story to his name. I'd be surprised if the finale of an eagerly anticipated installment in the ongoing Eighth Doctor narrative was given to someone as their first Big Finish script.

This is pure speculation on my part but I think it is a pseudonym. For which writer's, I don't know. I think we put the question out there on the old forum and that speculation was neither confirmed nor denied by any BF creative types.

Speculation about the identity of Edward Collier seems to point in the direction of a certain Nicholas Briggs. But personally I do not think it is.

David has always said he isn't a writer

Andy Lane was credited as "David Lock" for the Forbidden Time, for what that's worth (i.e. probably very little.)

David has always said he isn't a writer Yes he has said that but that doesn't mean he didn't end up writing a lot of, or all, of it. I mean I don't think I'm a writer either but I'm heavily involved at times with plotting and/or writing scenes for the various new plays I'm involved with developing. Again, none of this has been confirmed or denied by anyone connected with Big Finish. At least it doesn't feature the pen name of Robin Bland.

i loved the 11. i thought the next 2 were filler the red lady was good filler and the galileo trap was dull and filler. the satanic mill was confusing especially the end. i still not sure why the tardis materializing around the doctor stopped all the world ending badness. also who exactly was working in the mill? were they human? why couldnt they remember the day before? if they were human why didnt the doc put them back on earth? also the new companion hasnt made much of an impression on me. she just seems to be there. i dont think the doctor pays much attention to her it seems liv is the one hat loos after her. also i dont see much chemistry between her and liv and most especially the doctor.
honestly there doesnt seem to be a clear vision for this series. the 4 stories were not a cohesive whole like the first 2 dark eyes. they seem more suited to another season of 8DA's . and the trailer for doom coalition 2 is up and they seem even more random. but its the eighth doctor so i am in.

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with it myself. I thought "The Eleven" was excellent -- with an exciting script and a great performance from Mark Bonnard. After that the stories went downhill (I wasn't even that crazy about "The Red Lady" even though it got most of the praise from fans & critics.)
Still looking forward to Doom Coalition 2. It sounds fun and I'll be interested to hear how River fits into it.

Doom Coalition seems to be more like a TV series with an ongoing story arc. Kind of like The X-Files, or even a better constructed Moffat-type season of Who. Some episodes are directly related to the ongoing story, and some are more stand alone episodes. I happen to really like that aspect of this series. I like it when we get some McGann stories that don't involve the central storyline. It gives us a break from the tension and possible some intriguing and standout tales. Like The Red Lady, or A Day In The Life from DE4. (I just realized that those are both written by John Dorney. I seem to be biased. )

I wonder when the Eleven will become the Twelve. I feel it has to happen at some point during these box sets. I think it would have to be at the end of either the second or the third set. The cliffhanger being what will the Twelve be like?
Having just listened to Mark Bonnard as the brilliant villain in The Labyrinth of Buda Castle I am looking forward to hear more of him in Doom Coalition. When I saw he was in the cast for that Fourth Doctor adventure I did wonder if he might turn out to be an earlier incarnation of the time lord, but the FDA was probably recorded well before Doom Coalition. Perhaps his performance in the FDA got him the part as the Eleven!?
