Any chance Jago & Litefoot can make it into the thread title? Amended Cheers Tony Thanks. I navigate mainly by the Recently Updated Threads page, which doesn't say which board the thread happens to be on. Didn't spot the spelling mistake though I see.

I honestly can't wait for this. Celebrating the 40th anniversary with this boxset as well as the short trips was great and I really can't wait for Jonathan Barnes's release.

Now there's some corkingly excellent news to set a chap up for the rigours of the new week! Feet up at the virtual Red Tavern this evening with a pie on the table, a pint of half-and-half (whatever that is!) in the hand and a pair of (head)'phones on the ears! I've thought this April was an exceptional month even by the high standards of BF: The second half of that cracking J&L CC/Short Trip, fabulous Tom and Louise back in first-class Helm of Awe, the first of the double-bill MR stories (I'm still trying to come back down after 'Dalek Soul'!) and now an alternative adventure with the good Prof. and Mr. Jago. Congratulations to all at BF, more please!

Thanks, but no, still none the wiser... I thought that was a dog or something infamous from the colonial days in Ireland. I will Google. EDIT: It seems Mr. Jago's tipple was most likely mild ale and bitter.

Annoyingly I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, I liked it (anything with Messrs Jago & Litefoot is enjoyable), but it hasn't left me with an "oh ..." like earlier series. I don't know, perhaps my expectations have risen too much. At times I got very confused which Jago, Jago, Litefoot & Litefoot were which and Aubrey & Letterman just seemed to be "tacked on" for me. Saying that I did really enjoy The Stuff of Nightmares, great writing once again by paulmorris. I'd like to hear more about Agent Cara (and did expect our heroes to cross paths with her throughout the the box). I suppose it just goes to show what a fantastic range this is, when I can say I'm a bit disappointed with a release the critics are giving 10/10 Cheers Tony

Can I cheeky and ask {Spoiler} What the cliff-hanger ending was? Regards mark687 {Spoiler}Jago & Litefoot travel from the parallel world they spent the last three stories in to another that initially resembles their own that they wanted to return to. Then they see something bright in the sky that they don't recognise. The mystery is whether they are back in their original world or in another parallel world.

The Stuff of Nightmares opens this latest set very well, I think. Some typically good performances and expert comic timing, coupled with a nice sense of mystery. Things threatened to get a little too fantastical towards the end, but the plot managed to restrain itself (I think of J&L as accidental travellers, not seasoned sci-fi gents, and felt that during the stories with Leela, events became too close to Doctor Who for my liking. I feel J&L should be a fairly independent entity - luckily for me, they appear to remain so).
My favourite line: "I've only got the one face, you know. It may not be an award-winner, but it keeps the cold out!"
