They recorded the BF podcast at LI Who and the big news is that there will be a Jenny range with Georgia Moffat. It also sounds as if she will be producing it. Most of the rest of the hour was general craziness and we found out Paul McGann just bough a television. An idea was brought up for a story where the actors all get to play each others' Doctors and there seemed to be some interest all around. Nick had to leave after 45 min to catch a plane home so the last 15 minutes was finishing some questions and answers for the Doctors from the audience. I wish there was more to tell, but it was just a lot of fun more than informative. !!!

Really gonna be honest. Not excited for this one. Jenny's not a character I like and The Doctor's Daughter is an episode that highlights the worst of the Tenth Doctor.

It could do something like Graceless did, taking what is essentially a naive character and shaping her through some of the harsh realities of the universe. When we last see Jenny the only trauma she's really gone through is some self-sacrifice, and that hasn't seemed to faze her. She's also very trusting, having not yet encountered anyone who is actively deceitful or malicious (Cobb only did what he did because the core of his beliefs was being challenged).
I can see this range being a mix of Graceless, for the reasons mentioned above, and Charlotte Pollard, in the former companion (I do admit calling Jenny a companion is very loose, but it works for this comparison) who is separated from the Doctor and making their own way in the universe. Moffat has had years to bring the character back, Big Finish actually want to continue her story so as long as the quality is the excellent Big Finish standard, I see no reason not to do at least one release for this range.

... a mix of Graceless, ... and Charlotte Pollard, Two ranges that BF don't seem to be able to find the time to release on a regular basis or without extremely long delays. Not sure I'll be giving this one any priority ....

Not sure I'll be giving this one any priority .... Hey now, it's all conjecture at this point. I could easily see it being their "younger viewers" range, their audio equivalent of the Sarah Jane Adventures. There's a number of ways they could go with it.

Very pleased by this news, and can definitely see it as a back door way to get more Tennant

I didn't care much for the character so my expectations for a range are low - which means, on the plus side, they won't take much to be exceeded.

I'm quite pleased with this news.
Jenny was always a better initial concept to me then River. someone with a blood-tie to the Doctor, with warrior, Timelord and human traits, in a universe where the Timelords are supposed to be all but gone.
Also Geogia Moffet producing shows a level of commitment I wouldn't have expected. it should be a fascinating Boxset/ Series?

I actually liked Jenny as a character, but I would rather see her in the TV show again with 'Dad' than hear her in an audio series of solo adventures, so I have no interest in this spin-off.

Huh. It's certainly unexpected, but I guess not unwelcome.

Pretty sure I like River better personally, but could be just because we've had more stories with her. I'm not sure if I feel like we've ever really had the chance to get to know Jenny very much (although I thought it was cool that David & Georgia got to work together on DW) so should be really interesting to see how the character shapes up, especially since Big Finish is very good at shaping up characters generally. I'll try to give it a fair chance to make a good impression. Surprised but very glad to think that Big Finish (and Georgia) feel on firm enough footing to have a go at this for a series, I was expecting they might cautiously test the waters first. Hopefully this is good news however one feels about the character.

I love the fact that Georgia is working behind the scenes on this herself, in much the same way I'm thrilled some original cast members of Dark Shadows have actually penned some audio adventures. This could be extremely interesting.

Just to be clear I was at that podcast too I think this is something they have been discussing with Georgia and want to do but it's not entirely in the pipeline yet. At least that is the vibe I got from the interview. Although I suppose they wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't something that will come eventually.
Also I didn't remember them saying that Georgia will be producing this specifically just that she will be producing stuff for Big Finish in the future. Though it could very well be this range.

I can't pretend this is something I always wanted - I'm not really a fan of The Doctor's Daughter, frankly - but there's potential, so we'll see what they do. And if it gets new series fans into audio dramas, then I consider that fantastic news.

I'm interested to see where this goes. I liked Jenny, and thought it could be a good way to have a female doctor but she could equally end up more like the War Doctor or "Handy", with less scruples than dad ...
Cheers

...Pass, I didn't particularly care for the Doctors Daughter or the character, and I can't see a spinoff changing that for me.
Ah well, more money to spend elsewhere.

Lucky it's not compulsory to buy, eh? Hey, maybe Jenny will team up with Asildr and Lady Christina de Souza......
(Can't they just do more "Moonbase Utensil" instead? Surely that's a better bet?)
