Over the last few months, I've made an effort to catch up on post-Miracle Day Torchwood, and recently finished The Exodus Code. I know the current comics from Titan (also written by JB and his sister) sort of pick up from there, using the same supporting characters. I know the BF audios take place over the spectrum of Torchwood history, but do the "current"/"present day" ones make any reference to The Exodus Code? Titan says their comics are in continuity with Big Finish, but I've seen press releases say that kind of thing before only to be contradicted down the line...

Have the comics actually started? And yeah I'd be interested to see if, say, The Committee showed up in the comics.

As I understood it currently the Titan Comics and the BF Audios are 2 separate continuities.

Interesting development.

I can't wait to see what develops, on both fronts.

I'm delighted that the comics and BF stories are in continuity together. It's what made me want to pick up the comics, as I've enjoyed BF's take on Torchwood so much.

In the two issues released so far there's not been any mention of the Big Finish original continuity. Nothing is contradicting it, but it's more of a follow-up for the characters in The Exodus Code novel than it is a tie-in to the Big Finish stories. By the way, Exodus Code wasn't mentioned in the promotional material until the Previously On at the start of issue 1.

I really wish they'd go back and do the ones they're missing though.

I Don't follow it but the synopsis for the latest issue due next Wendsday
T he Navigators need Jack’s help to battle an alien threat from his past – but he’s an ocean away and several bullet holes from being able to help them out! Gwen finds herself torn between two worlds, as Jack’s quest threatens everything she holds dear – including the very core of Torchwood itself! And the Committee want the Ice Maiden and its crew – and its advanced, alien technology – for their own purposes, and they’ll kill anyone who gets in their way!
So that properly confirms BF consultant involvement.

Been thinking of picking these up in the near future. How's that Big Finish intermeshing going?

Been thinking of picking these up in the near future. How's that Big Finish intermeshing going? So far its been non-existent. It's pretty much been doing its own thing without ever referencing the Big Finish audios even once. I stopped buying them after the first four because it just wasn't the Torchwood I remembered. It's a continuation of John Barrowman's 2012 novel The Exodus Code. You'll need to have read and remembered that (I read it once years ago but forgot most of it) to know who the new characters are, since you don't get any decent explanation of who they are or how they joined "Torchwood" (or TIMA, Torchwood in Name Only).

I assume when they said Titan and Big Finish work closely together they meant that nothing in the comics would contradict stuff happening in Big Finish and vice versa.
I honestly would not want to have to buy the comics to understand the story in the audios. So I am glad they don't really connect that much.

Its just annoying that you have to have read a book to know who the characters are and where it picks up
